Non-professional cameras?

I'm attending Green Day's concert this Saturday and the venue said small "non-professional" cameras without 'recording devices' will be allowed. In general terms, what does non-professional camera mean? I would think most small digital cameras these days have some sort of audio or video recording device...it's inevitable really. You think I could sneak in a Sony Cybershot W290 in? It's small and does sport a small button for video on the rotator dial (but then...which cameras don't?). What do you think? Thanks!

Yeah, just bring your camera anyway. Just say it can't record, and they'll let you through most likely.

I think what they mean by "professional" cameras are cameras that have detachable lenses.

So, in any case a Sony Cybershot W290 or maybe a Nikon 9000 be ok? Should I be able to cruise right through security?

Yeah they should. If they are digital cameras they should be fine.

Any SLR cameras are classed as professional. You should be fine with the one you're taking with you.

Jack96, do you say that because you know GD allows cameras like that indoors? I'm a little confused by your statement. Oh good? I'll remember that? Does this come from your personal experience? Thanks!

I think he means he's read some of the posts and realised you can bring digital cameras in, so he's happy about it. :)

Psh they don't give a shit. THey know it's professional if it's a huge bag that the camera is, not just a camera you put in your pocket.

But people do it anyways. I've done it before when they said no video and I was in front row of the concert.

Oh this is great! I've been meaning to ask about this but I feel reassured now, so I'll definitely take my camera! :D

Not necessarily.

It depends on the venue.

Acer doesn't usually let us bring any sort of camera.

We'll have to wait until November to see what the ticket says.
