MODS leave this thread open.

I'd like to see some more pictures of Woodstock gathered in one area. The GDA vault needs some. :P

Does anyone know if there's a picture of Mike Dirnt hitting himself in the head with the microphone before they start playing?

So not to age myself or anything, but I was at this show and it was INSANE. I was 17, just about to start my freshman year in college and went up with my then girlfriend, a friend we went to high school with and her boyfriend who was A 45 YEAR OLD TEACHER FROM OUR SCHOOL--we smoked weed with him and everything and this is a teacher from a PRIVATE CATHOLIC SCHOOL!!!!

Looking back on it now, it's pretty wrong, but I was young back then and thought nothing of it.

It was 3 days of hell literally. It looks like it would have been a fun time and everything, but it rained the WHOLE 3 days and every step you took put your feet in ankle deep mud that nearly sucked your shoes right off. It was a cold rain and although you see some pics of open areas where people are mud sliding and everything, that was nowhere near any of the stages. Any area that was within viewing range of either stage, the North Stage (where all the big name bands played) and the South Stage (where all the smaller name bands, like Green Day at the time, played) was shoulder to shoulder people. Not a walkway to move, just people, people, people everywhere. VERY easy to get claustrophobic and VERY easy to get lost. Announcements were CONSTANTLY going on for people who were lost. Food was incredibly expensive, you couldn't use cash you had to wait in long lines to get "Woodstock money" which were little coins of various denominations (I kept one of each for keepsake :) )

So on Sunday we trekked out to see Green Day and hardly got close enough to see the debauchery, but could hear everything. It was cool to say "I was there!" but man oh man, was it a nightmare.
