.Militza.
it depends on the size of the place the bands are playing......I think the "free-will, do-whatever-we-want" thing that FHBT has is mostly to do with the smaller venues they play at...if they were playing at a really large venue, they wouldn't have as much of a chance to interact with the crowd...and Green Day mostly plays large venues (and still is able to keep the crowd going), so it's really not comparable.Ehh, idkk.Same here. also when GD plays in small club or so, they make great show. It's just the matter of place. They can't be so close up with the fans if they're playing in bigger places And when they're playing there they still kick ass
otherplans
I dunno if anyone's mentioned this, but I think the simplicity of the FHTs' material kinda frees them up to go wild more so than the spirit of the group. Having to perform complicated material seems keep them too busy to be as energetic.

fashionvictim86
the foxboro hot tubs ARE green dayYUP! That's what I thought to myself. So it's not surprising that Foxboro kicks ass live too.

LouLou
But, why choose? Lets have them both in the same night, please!Heck yea!! I think the Tubbies should open for GD's opening band on the tour. It would pull more people in for the openers, people could get best of both worlds. It could be there warm up before the show!I wish

steelthorne
I disagree. Green Day are the Foxboro Hot Tubs, but not the other way around. FHT is fun and care-less, but if I thought about them as different bands, I don't think FHT could write what Green Day can. That said, I voted for FHT. Green Day shows are amazing, but they lack the same vibe that made FHT such a fun endeavor for those who got the chance to experience them. The way I chose, i decided that if Green Day said "hey, we're gonna play a show tonight. It's up to you, would you rather Green Day go on, or Foxboro Hot Tubs?", I'd vote FHT. Foxboro played a couple Green Day songs so thats a win/win, but the shows are completely more interactive with the audience. You go from the occasional "Heyyy ohhhh" with Green day to the band jumping all over the audience and encouraging the audience to rush the stage with Foxboro.Wow. My opinion is identicle to yours, Andres The FHT have more energy than new Green Day, because everything they do now can't be performed without actually concentrating so much on getting the music right that it takes away from their energy and overall vibe. If anything they're using the Hottubs to channel in that sort of 1994 craziness that the guys used to project as they would scream out the lyrics however and not worry about anything and just have a good time. Green Day has a certain standard they have to live up to now in terms of being a super huge stadium rock band, which is why i would have to vote for The Foxboro Hottubs as the better live band, judging from everything 2004-present
steelthorne
Thats hard but i woted green day, because thay just have more hits to play.and you would rather see them play 21 guns, wake me up when september ends, or know your enemy than mother mary, ruby room, or stop drop and roll? wow. why?It took me a minute, but I think you're saying if the show was going to be in an arena, you would choose Green Day rather than the Foxtubs, is that right? At first I thought you meant if you were going to see Green Day, you would prefer to see them in an arena instead of a small venue . Anyway, this got me thinking, and despite the fact that I agree with everything Andres said about the difference between FBHT and Green Day, I'm beginning to think I'd choose Green Day - given equal venues. So, if I could see Green Day in a venue like the Bowery or even Webster Hall (or better yet, the Brickhouse or Juanita's), I think I would choose that over seeing Foxboro in the same venue. I've surprised myself with this choice, but I think it's because Green Day has such a history and connection with their fans. Sure FBHT gets up close and personal, but in the right venue so does Green Day. And Green Day to me seems to be full of love for their fans. I'll never forget the moment at Webster Hall at the (almost) end of Minority when Billie Joe looked out at the crowd and said "That was badass!" His voice was so full of emotion - I don't think that would fit with the Foxtubs personality, and I loved it - it was one of the best moments ever for me. I ADORE FBHT, and I loved the shows I saw. I would hate to have to choose between them, but if I had to, I think I'd choose Green Day.I dunno, I think they play a little more intensly in an arena, even tho its less personal. And new Green Day doesn't sound as good in a small place only old stuff does.and lol i love when Billie runs like a mile across the stage backk and forth he looks neat when he runs XDHeck yea!! I think the Tubbies should open for GD's opening band on the tour. It would pull more people in for the openers, people could get best of both worlds. It could be there warm up before the show!I wish thats a really really good idea.
Juliette
Never seen either of them in the flesh but they both seem amazing live. FBHT just have that extra intimacy that Green Day doesn't, though that's because of the venues I reckon, though they still seem... idk, like they don't care at all
Hermione
But, why choose? Lets have them both in the same night, please! In a funny way, it actually works that Green Day can open for Foxboro Hot Tubs. You can't beat a bit of tubbies action for an encore!I like the way you think! Having them as an encore would be fabulous, they would be a delicious dessert . I have a new dream show now! Zalex
I wouldnt fuckin know cause Foxboro seems to have something against playing the east coast Never seen either of them in the flesh but they both seem amazing live. FBHT just have that extra intimacy that Green Day doesn't, though that's because of the venues I reckon, though they still seem... idk, like they don't care at all Mmm not true. The first Green Day show I saw was the most intimate show of any band I've ever seen. Yeah, it was a small venue, but they made it more intimate than any other band would even in a place that small..... wow that was an extremely repetitive sentence.
