Thats so true I know if I was lucky enough to be pulled up on stage I would end up kissing him first than running over to kiss Tre after just out of sheer excitement

That's just common sense. Doesn't mean I am not happy for him though

I hope he sees this so he tells you guys the story and shows you the video, etc.

I got up to play guitar when they played in Sweden 2005. There's a pretty good video of it on youtube; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n7dxB1xHw2U

And here's a few pictures;

And yeah, i had the whole thing typed in another thread so i'm just gonna copy paste it;

Me and my 2 friends took the train down to Gothenburg from Stockholm, took probably around 5 hours or so.

Got down to gothenburg around 3pm and we had something to eat and went to our hostel and dropped our stuff and got dressed and then left for the

venue..

Think we got there around 6:20pm and doors had already opened so we kinda just walked in and made our way through the crowd until we were around 1-2 meters from the stage.

Jimmy eat world entered the stage and played a couple of songs and then Green Day entered and the crowd went all nuts.

I think Knowledge was around half way through the set and as he started looking for a drummer, i prepared myself with my sign (made out of a pillowcase which said "I Play Guitar")

And as he started to shout "now...WHO KNOWS HOW TO PLAY THE GUITAR??" my friends pulled me up on their shoulders and i pulled the sign over my head.

Billie spotted me quite fast and laughted and said "Well, you're all suited up aren't ya?" (I was wearing similar cloth as him, just to bring his attention).

And that's around where he started talking to me.

I think our little conversation went something like this:

Billie: So you can play guitar?

Me: *nods*

Billie: Scream as loud as you can so that everybody knows you're here

Me: *Screams, and everybody screamt with me xD*

Billie: How old are you?

Me: *Shows 17 with my fingers*

Billie: 17? gosh...have you ever had sex before?

Me: *nods*

Billie: Well you're about to have sex tonight, get your ass up here

This is around where the video starts that beth posted earlier.

I think it pretty much speaks for itself..

The feeling of walking the same stage as mr Billie FUCKING Joe Armstrong is just so undescribeable. and also standing on a stage infront of 9000 people is such a thrill.

I was so in shock cause it all seemed so surreal.

Well, after we played, the roadie came and pull me off stage so i nearly fell and behind the stage he asked me if i wanted the guitar now or later after the show,

I told him i'd rather want it afterwards so he took it and let me walk off. Shook hands with Jason White while walking of.

Went back to the crowd, and everyone was like cheering at me and wanted to shake my hand and they were all really nice to me :)

Went back to my friends and as the show ended we went to pick up the guitar and made our way out.

As we stood outside everyone was coming up to me and said congratulations and wanted to touch the guitar and stuff :)

And here's the guitar now. :)

That is immense!! Well done, sir!

I love the live version of Knowledge from France, when at the end of the song, Billie Joe's like "Where's the fucking drummer?! Come here you son of a bitch!" It just sounds so funny

I had just a pillowcase, i think i just put it in my pocket or maybe in my underpants so they wouldn't notice, can't really remember.

Hi everyone! So i've only just joined the board so figured this would be an appropriate first post :P

I'm one of the lucky ones who got brought up on stage to play drums. It was at the Rock Werchter festival in Belgium in 2005 and was absolutely amazing :D basically when i woke up that morning I had already decided that I was going up on stage with them so I made sure I got right near the front, and as he was calling out for a drummer I got two friends to lift me up and was basically waving my arms around like crazy, and had a load of people around me all pointing towards me so I got his attention :P I couldn't believe it when he looked at me and told me to come up on stage! So walked up to Tre and he asked me 'So, can you REALLY play drums?' and I laughed and re assured him. Thennn well the rest is a bit of a blur to be honest, he told me what beat to play and I found it a bit too simple to I spruced it up (which got a thumbs up and a smile from Billie :P) and Tre was bouncing all over the place taking polaroid pictures of me. The view was incredible, 100,000 people in front of me, playing along with Mike and Billie just strolling up and down the stage it was amazing! Then the bassist and guitarist came up on stage and we all finished the song together. Then Tre gave me his sticks (i still cherish those!) and gave me some polaroid pictures and some stickers and we all walked off stage as the band started Basket Case.

Amazing experience, I just wish someone had bothered to take a bloody video :P

I'm Steph by the way, some of you may remember me from the international super board a while back, but I was young and probably very annoying back then so I hope nobody remembers too well :P
