Got home from Target about a half hour ago with the album, and I'm listening to the live bonus CD first, currently on Are We The Waiting.

t's just unreleased live shit

I was talking about the iTunes covers. lol. I think it kind of sucks that those of us that prefer physical copies get screwed in that sense.

Anyways, I think my favorite song is the Static Age. Good shit.

Bought both versions today. I'd already heard the songs (I tried to wait, but temptation got the better of me) but listening to the CD with the lyrics in my hand was something else.

So, I got out of school at about 12pm and walked to HMV. I saw they had both versions, and some posters, but I didn't know if I had enough money so I bought the normal version and two posters. Then I regretted not buying the limited edition as it looked so cool, so I called my mum and she came and lent me the money

I really like the limited edition. The artwork for this album is so good. I love the two skulls with the X's for eyes in one and hearts for eyes in the other. The first thing I thought of when I saw that was "rage and love". :P

Yeah, actually the day they streamed it, I burned it to a cd and me and my parents blared it while driving to see my sister in the hospital. I know that that's not an official copy, but it just struck me as a good driving record. And it kept us all in good spirits.

So i just fished listening to the whole album without pauses.

So to sum it up , there are no words, its brilliant .

In more words:

I completely love it, totally blew me away. I had high expectations of the album , but it shattered them.

to me ITS THE BEST ALBUM OF ALL TIME BY ANY BAND. (and im not saying this lightly)

It really touches me on a deeper level, i can connect with it in every way. Its a stunning work of art, and its so easy to be drawn into it, even on your first listen, there's something so organic about it and even though its the first time im listening to it, its as though its the music of my life .It was so natural to hear it.

This album has shown how far Green Day has come from Dookie, and in a good way. They have matured in terns of topic choices, and also as musicians. The whole album still has that great energy as their earlier albums but is a bit more gritty and dark and more put together as a whole. 21st century breakdown isnt just an album to rock out to or to simply enjoy, its one of those life changing albums that make you stop in that moment and think about life.

The album really touches alot of emotions, more so than any previous album ,and its way more intense on the emotional level than even American Idiot.

You can literally feel the tenderness and love on last night on earth, its really a beautiful love song. Then of course there's the rage ,anger and rebellion on Know your enemy. To me really the most beautiful song is 21 guns there's really a tone of vulnerability in it for me and it really moved me to tears.

but honestly what makes this album so great is that its a total package of songs that will inspire and provoke. There are no filler songs. They work together cohesively and add to each other. Every song is addictive and meaningful and are open to interpretation.

I listened to the whole album with a critical ear, although im a massive green day fan, if this album was done by any other band i would worship them as well, so do not for one second think that im raving about this album simply because im a fan.

Green day really out did themselves, this album pushes them beyond American idiot ,and it really showcases a different side of them.

21 century breakdown is destined to be a classic album for me, on that i can never tire of.

I cant get enough of it.

I just want thank green day for the blood sweat and tears put into this album, because you can literally feel their emotions on it. I think its very brave of them to put themselves out to the world like this, and being so vulnerable. Green day has always inspired me to be a better person and musician, and this album is not any different. To me their music isnt just something i listen to , its something i live by and that gives me strength, hope , faith and inspiration. This album is their gift to the world.

I got back from Best Buy about 1 1/2 hours ago. I bought the special edition. (It's the CD, as well as a 52 page book of artwork and lyrics.) I also noticed that, at my Best Buy location, there's a big magazine area. And one of the magazines was the April edition of Rock Sound. This particular one was the one that included Green Day. (With this fucking HUGE GD poster inside.) So, I naturally had to buy it.

I still haven't listened to the album yet. I plan to a little after 3:00 P.M. At that time, I'll have the house to myself, which means that I can blast this fucker as loud as I please.

I bought the Target special edition when the store opened at 8 this morning. Went home, did some chores, ordered tickets to the New York show in July. Went back out later, bought the Best Buy special edition, the new issue of Rolling Stone, got some lunch, and came home.

So. It's now 1:45 PM and I'm probably going to start listening to the album (finally!) within the next few minutes. :woot:
