vival@gloria
After listening to this album quite a bit, I have to say that I like American Idiot more than this. This is still a great album, but with both albums sharing the concept rock opera, I felt like AI had a more connected story with a great ending.I don't get that same feeling with 21CB. The thing I had to gauge is that I had to think back when I first heard American Idiot...because whenever you hear a new album you are always like OMG OMG THIS IS AWESOME...then time goes by and you are thinkin...meh maybe this wasn't as awesome as I thought.Jesus of Suburbia, Holiday, Blvd of Broken Dreams, St. Jimmy, Shes a Rebel, Give me Novicane, Letterbomb, WMWSE, Homecoming, Whatsername..I dunno...just seem more grand I guess. I mean JOS was just a huge song! I remember listening to that for the first time thinking oh wow...what an amazing roller coaster....and then Homecoming with Mike and Tre's part...just awesome..I love alot of songs from this album like American Euology, Static Age, 21 Guns, Peacemaker, but I just like AI more...and I think...after sometime and the craziness of this new album, new tour and everything calms down, a lot of you will prob agree with me.This exactly sums up my thoughts about the album too
Tiffx
The only songs off AI I give a listen to every once in a while are Whatstername and Letterbomb. Other than that, I guess I'm just over it. I am almost 100% sure I will like 21CB more. Bring on Friday.
sampy
I dunno is there anyone intrested but I found a finnish site where you can listen this album, and it's working till friday I guess ! Just posted this 'cause I dunno is those older sites working like in Europe. Rhapsody isn't working for me and so isn't MTV and other sites. But you can try this.here's the link
andymac
I'm really enjoying the album so far, and even though there's a loose story I wouldn't really call it a rock opera. It's more of just a social commentary, using a few recurring characters in the songs to link them all together. The best part of the album in my opinion is the diversity! Ballads, pop tunes, epics, punk songs, rock & roll and just about everything in between! It really is one of Green Day's best albums as it furthers them and brings in new styles, while retaining old ones from past albums and eras. Ingrid
^ Don't worry, it's really not very hard at this point. All the good things people are saying about the album are just making me look forward to Friday even more, and I don't want to spoil myself of that day for anything I'm not waiting to listen to the album because I feel like I have to, but because I just want to. It's not the big deal that some people have made it out to be.

Comrade
and I think...after sometime and the craziness of this new album, new tour and everything calms down, a lot of you will prob agree with me.I dunno. Muisically this is a better album. It is m ore refined and more diverse. Ai is epic, but I don't consider that their best album, so me that's warning, and for me, this beats warning. I've played the whole thing 20 times now, and a few songs more than that. Objectively as possibly I think this is better than most their previous work. It's deeper, slicker and has more variation. I think that this almost will alwats rate as one of their best now. I think fr alot of people this will be their 'American Idiot' -the album that they think of when they think of Green Day. I think I might actually enjoy the music more on 21st Century, but I feel like AI was a more cohesive album. It wasn't as complex (story arc) wise, but the simplistic/cohesive way it was presented made for an easier story to follow. *When i say simplistic, I am saying that the story wasn't as in depth as 21st Century, as far as the plot arc. But I agree that the album was much better connected then 21st.Furthermore, I really think 21st Century ends a bit weak. I do like "See the Light" - but no way does it touch Whatsername. The ending to AI overall was much more grand/emotional - and it totally wrapped up the story.
