Kate Austen
"Last Night on Earth" would have been the better ending for this album. But i am not nit picky, i love every song.. except "Know Your..".I feel like the sound of that song - yes would have been better. as a closer then See the Light. However, it kind of fits perfectly where it's at - in the way of plot. Altho I suppose they could have ended the entire album with Christian Declaring his love for Gloria. I mean, if there ever was an answer to this mess that we call the 21st Century and all it's problems - it would be love.I know that sounds cheesy, but I def feel it. novacaine_kid
Haha, this is the first time I've actually listened to any new Green Day shit. I'm not one of the wankers who are saving their 21CB-virginity for the release date, I just couldn't be arsed until there was a link to hear the whole thing slapped on the top of GDC.Hardly fair to call them wankers. some people just want it to be new and fresh. kinda like saving yourself for marriage... totally pointless and rather dull. but you cant knock their patience
teqi
Honestly. The new album blew me away far past my wildest expectations. They have never been stronger in all aspects of their music like they are right now. This is by far better than American Idiot in every way. American Idiot was the middle school era of the band, and 21CB is the band growing pubic hair and shaving with a real razor blade. This is the band at it's best. I didn't think it could be done, but I think 21cb kicked Warning off the top of my favorite Green Day album list. With that being said, I have a sick in the pit of my stomach that this album won't sell as well as AI. I think the band still has a very loyal fan base since their beginnings in the mainstream, but with AI 5 years ago, they gained a whole new fanbase of the "Myspace generation" which helped that album sky rocket in sales. However, that was 5 years ago, and I don't think those new fans were as patient as we all were. A lot of them have moved on, and Green Day seems to be like a distant memory to them. GOD I hope I'm wrong. I don't think this album should be an unappreciated antique that dusts away in your attic like Warning was. That album didn't deserve the lack of reconition, and neither does this album. Please let me wrong Lord, Please!i understand what you're saying, i am kind of feeling the same way. i definitely think this is possibly their strongest album, but i'm not sure what the reception will be like from the general public. it's not really anything like i expected (though i'm not exactly sure what i DID expect), but that's a good thing...it surpassed my expectations by milesnot exactly sure yet that it will replace Warning as my fave GD album though  but it is up there
Kate Austen
I'm still trying to figure out what song Before The Lobotomy sounded like though. It might be something by ABBA.Reminds me of a mix of Oasis and the Beatles to be honest. I don't have a particular song in mind, just the style of the song. *shrugs*

Kate Austen
Fuck it, the FLAC on what.cd has been left up (and this site is very strict, and takes shit down if they are fake) - general consensus is it's real. So, I have a link to the CD Rip, if anyone wants it. Just PM me.
M1KEY
Hmmmm... possible singles in my opinion:- 21st Century Breakdown- Before the Lobotomy- East Jesus Nowhere- Last of the American Girls- Restless Heart Syndrome- The Static Age- 21 GunsPersonally, I'd love to see one of their Spanish or gypsy influenced songs like Peacemaker or ?Viva la Gloria? actually make it to single status. OLAY!

Marie_GD
21 Guns can be a single but NOT the NEXT single, it would be the same mistake they made with AI, Releasing Blvd after AI.I'm not speaking from a fan's pov, Blvd was my favorite song off AI at the time and I was so happy to see a video for it. So I am saying comercial wise.
Kimpsu
Both Viva la Glorias are awesome, second one sounds a bit like Misery, and that's always a good thing.
Rob
21 Guns can be a single but NOT the NEXT single, it would be the same mistake they made with AI, Releasing Blvd after AI.How was that a mistake? That single is what really made that album sell like a wildfire. Are you saying you just don't want it to be overplayed on the radio? That's how I felt about WMUWSE. That was my favorite song on AI until it was released as a single.
Marie_GD
It was a mistake because it made everyone outside of the GD fandom think that the album was filled with slow melodic songs. When actually it was pretty Punk Rock!By the time Holiday came out (which would have been the right choice for single number2), the "people" had already formed that stupid opinion. GrimFaith
It sounds like a backwards recording. Maybe if someone reverses a recording, it would make sense? It could just be random recorded sounds. In reverse it's "don't test me"Initial thoughts of this album are that it's a mix of everything the band has done so far. Some songs are average but some songs are the best they've ever written (Last Night on Earth, EJN, Restless heart syndrome)
