Initial reaction: sensory overload!!

Can't wait to actually know them all a bit better - but 21 Guns, Before the Lobotomy, Peacemaker and Horseshoes and Handgrenades stand out for me.

:woot:

Meh, its cool, of course, I was right, it doesnt touch AI, but it strokes it

Its pretty fucking good in parts, honestly, when I cover some of the songs, I'll make the solols way better (I dont mean to brag, but in previous GD songs, you cant really add anything, but some of these are fucking open for some epic shredding)

EJN has a Foxboro Moment in it too! Mass Hysteria was kinda boring, too close to Deadbeat, but Modern World was fucking awesome!

The Static Age is pretty cool shit.

21 Guns is amazing, Im surprised I didnt cry, in all honesty, it describes my life so well.

Man, the album sounds so much better on the computer speakers then the freakin TV, I like it more now! I keep telling myself every GD album BUT AI I had to listen to many times to like, but I remember AI was the same, so Im feeling good about it at the moment, I'll be calling it epic by the end of the week

I like it, it's much, much better than I thought it would be!

I love how it flows so well. It's not the best album ever, but I'd give it a 3.5 out of 5.

Ive just noticed, alot of the songs (mainly Gloria 1) has a very very We are the Champions feel. The album is remenicent of AI, but more melodic and poppy.

Murder City, The Static Age and Horseshoes and Handgrenades are my favorites. Ans surprisingly enough, I loved Last Night On Earth. I never thought I would like such a lovey dovey kinda song. But it's really beautiful.

I can't help it. I'm downloading it now.

I can't wait another week :(

I downloaded every album then bought them all so I'm not exactly going out of character here but I wanted to save it for the full blown CD version. Then the 6 songs came out and I couldn't hold it any longer...

My first impression is that it's definitely equal to American Idiot, some bits are way better than AI, some bits are not as good, but it's certainly on a par. But that's just with the 9 songs I've heard so there's loads of scope for this to be their best record ever.

My only justification for this is that I need to concentrate on my exams I have in under 2 weeks and the anticipation of this album is taking over any motivation I have to study.

To me, the album is a clear mix between AI and Nimrod, no doubt in my mind. Throw in a bit of Foxboro (American Girls, EJN chorus?) Warning (Peacemaker) and a tiny bit of Network (Inferno) BAM, 21st Century Breakdown, hmm...arent they all of Green Days best albums? (Except Money Money, it was ok :D)

I've listened 21CB for three times and what I wanna say to you, guys, is that it's AWESOME. Actually, it's not better than American idiot, as well as it's not better than Dookie. It's just different. I think it's uncompareable with previous albums...except AI in some sense...

Green Day are not punk band since now. They focused on different styles and parts. They went a great walk to do so, to sound so good from song to song...i'm not englishman, so i didn't understand all lyrics for now, but i'm impressed by sound...of course i can't say that every song is fantastic, couse there are some great and some more than great tracks, but as a whole 21CB is amazing...I think we all need just some time to listen attentively each of melodies and each of phrases...

Green Day prepeared this material for 3 more years and we need some time to understand clearly what they've done fo us and for world...

Lights Out should have been on the album, its one of the only punk sounding songs from the Breakdown sessions (along with KYE, 21st CB to some point, HAH ect)

But they are loosing that punk edge now. I wonder how things will play out next album...

I don't think it will do as well as AI. Not because its not as good, its probally better infact but because people just download the illegal copies and dont bother buying music anymore. I have full faith everyone here will be buying the album but new fans will probally download it if the like some of the songs and never actually buy it.

Its such a great album. I now know why Billie had a hard time letting it go.
