MusicalDeviant
I'm only listening to the songs I've already heard. I'm going to wait a (long-ass) week before I hear the whole thing. Fuck. In 20 years, I'll look back at this week and thank myself for being strong.

Muttweed182
Most of you people have no real understanding of how singles are chosen and what songs are likely to become singles. Generic sounding songs that only fans would be drawn to (such as American Eulogy or Murder City) will *not* be singles. I *love* both of those songs, but they just aren't what could be singles. Compare that to Restless Heart Syndrome, which I do not like all that much (it might be the 10th best song on this album to me), which has a good chance of becoming a single. Last Night on Earth, while unique for Green Day is too "boring" for radio, even if good. I've followed rock music very closely for the last 15 years and I work in intellectual property law, if you're curious where I'm getting the basis for my opinions. The most likely songs to become singles imo are the following: A. 21 Guns (this *will* be a single...the only question is whether they wait to unleash it as the third single after shoring up their base with another song after the weaker first single KYE or whether they release it second like Good Riddance)B. East Jesus Nowhere (this also *will* be a single)From here it gets iffy, but I'd say the following have the best chances, even though 4th and 5th singles aren't usually as big anyway:C. Before the Lobotomy / Viva La Gloria (only one of these will be a single, not both, as the general idea is very similar and they will appeal to the same sorts of listeners...my thought is BtL has a better chance because it just sounds more radio friendly)D. 21st Century Breakdown / The Static Age / Restless Heart Syndrome (The Static Age has an outside chance, but it's really more like the Stuck with Me / Church on Sunday / Scattered of the album...an awesome song, but may just fall short of the single bar because other songs have a more unique sound to pull different types of listeners in). This album will not have more than 5 singles, as virtually no album ever does. By the time the 6th single comes out, the album has run its course and there's no need for any more.So what's funny is that it looks like the 1 hour special DID in fact include all the singles when at the time I thought it would not.To summarize, the following songs will be singles as outlined in the analysis above:1. Know Your Enemy2. 21 Guns3. East Jesus Nowhere4. Before the Lobotomy5. 21st Century Breakdown / Restless Heart Syndrome (either could be picked)Lol I must know about single picking cuss we basically have the same list. I think Last Night on Earth has single potential people will eat that piano stuff up. It please the lady's

billiebeats
Okay I get it. Still kinda fucked you were a sperm first time I heard these guys. Sorry for the spelling mistake, but Im sure you got the analogy. I wasnt trying to condescend anyone here, its just cool how big this is man. Things werent always this way. I think its rad that this band has transcended a couple generations without being 40 years old yet. No getting emo, this is punk rock.

It please the lady'sYeah, I thought your list was actually quite good, but I still disagree on Last Night on Earth...I don't think it's single material. Some adult contemporary stations may play it, but you have to remember that anything Green Day puts out as a single has to be acceptable to modern rock radio, as that is still their most reliable broadcasting medium. Rock radio will not play LNoE. But hey, if I'm wrong about LNoE I'll buy you a steak if you're ever in Houston.
