in his own form he is; he won't exactly copy a song's form, but he will base it around a song he likes.

We all do. Who plays something they don't like?

but no one will ever be John or Roger. I think about it as a tip of the hat, and I don't even think of the song as a Beatle or Who styled kind of thing.

true,

you have a point.

but I, that I am EXTREMELY Beatles familiarized, don't see too much Beatle in the song as you guys say there is.

not all songs with an orchestra and/or a piano are Beatleish.

like I said before, maybe I relate to the song, that's it

I think it's kinda Magical Mystery Tourish, it's got the strings and piano and some vocal effects...kinda sounds like a Lennon song when it starts out. That's where I see the similarities. It's its own thang though, I'm not hung up on it.

No matter what you think of the album, you gotta give the band props for not just copying and pasting American Idiot. One thing we can mostly agree on is its no AI, for better or worse.

Kids forced by parents to practice some instrument and to play classical songs that they don't like at recitals.

I'm loving this album. I didn't think it could happen, but they've outdone AI. Stupendous!!

*insert a clapping smiley here*

I'm especially happy to hear that Billie's using his pure voice (as opposed to his Green Day voice) so much more than ever and he's sustaining notes and even letting us hear his vibrato. Yay!! :D

UPDATE: Looks like the FLAC on what.cd might be a transcode. :(

I'm guessing this 320kbps rip and the one on Mininova is also a fake.

what does that mean exactly.

I think Billie said this in an interview before but the album shouldn't be really just a collection of songs that's just merely a collection of songs or singles. It should be something that has to be taken in as a whole. This album, much like the most of the great albums of the past, accomplishes exactly that; it has to be listened from start to finish to get a real grasp of it. Each song is a part of something that is bigger than itself. It's kinda like the belief that we are all part of something bigger than ourselves, something like God possibly? Bad comparison though because of East Jesus Nowhere.

Yes, but Billie himself said in an article he believed in a higher power. I just dont think he means in the traditional sense  And I also think that that's a good explanation. I remember reading some review saying the whole was greater than the sum of its parts, but I can't see it being a bad album. I bet you're right on the money. It's nice to believe we're a part of something bigger, playing a part in someone's lives we might not even be aware of...

We are a tapestry lol

How profound

I definitely relate to it. And I am started to see different sets of lyrics all over the place on this album that I'm starting to relate to, even though when I first read them, I didn't. It's the inflections he uses, the emotion, the music, all of it swelling together to make something well up inside of me. I love Before the Lobotomy, especially the intro, but I didn't like it that much when I first heard it.

Confirmation. The torrent is real. I managed to play 3 full songs from it while it was at 80%. Theyre encoded as 128kbps though, but hey its something to tide us over.

Lol, none probably. But still, there are perverse people who do it. :o

Well, here is an example.

I could take the shitty web rip that was at 128kbps - burn it on a CD, then re-rip that CD as FLAC or 320kbps. Then, people think the FLAC (this is the closest you can get to CD quality) or the 320kbps is legit, when in all reality, it is still the web rip. So taking a lower quality - and re-coding it as a better quality = transcode.

Make sense? I have a feeling since the stream happened today, a lot of these "320kbps" floating around aren't CD rips, but transcodes of the web rip. It happens EVERY TIME something streams or is leaked in low quality. Within hours after, someone will transcode it. Quite annoying.

that'd be 2nd and 3rd gen loss I think
