I gotta say I really like the album as a whole, I give it...yes 5 stars. Also, murder city will not be a single

I say 21 guns, american eulogy and something else. Before the lobotomy probably. Murder City is as good as Letterbomb which is an amazing song, but it's best if it stays in the back.

I really fucking like this album. After TWO listens I know all the words basically and I haven't read any lyrics. I think what I like most about this album is they are still experimenting with there new sound but it's something everyone can enjoy

Old School fans = Murder City, Last Of the American Girls, The Static Age, Horseshoes & Handgrenades

AI fans = 21st CB, East Jesus Nowhere, 21 Guns, Know Your Enemy

I love AI, I hate "know your enemy"

why you have norton in the first place?

here, in the US every PC comes with that shit with a 30-days or so trial

must be something to do with our universal health care.

Restless Heart Syndrom makes me laugh.

"I've got a really bad disease." i was thinking, "Billie Joe caught a sexually trasmitted disease."

Do YOU like it? And what do you mean, a different beast?

Being a beast is a good thing, right? lol

Basically, it's a lot to digest at one time. The album is 1 hour and 9 min - it's really ambitious and experimental. For me, some of the songs don't fully work, others do. I feel like American Idiot hit just the right spot, in making a nice little concept album (and while it was simplistic in story arc, and short in lenghth - compared to this ) - it still just wrapped up nicely as a whole.

This, this feels more like a true opera. It's epic in scope, and I'm not sure how I feel about it.

So to answer your question, yes I do like it. Do I love it? Not sure. Do I love some songs? Yes. I think an album like this needs weeks, maybe months to digest. It's certainly not hitting me as quick as AI. So in conclusion, the album is complex, and it challenges the listeners.

It stands not mightily but as a god. It definitely has to be taken in as a whole.

21CB kind of has a story. It is just kind of hard to grasp because the first person perspective changes for different songs with little indication or can be applied to both characters. I like the fact that it is not linear though.

As a god? lol Essplain.

21 Guns reminds me of Boulevard of Broken Dreams; so in that sense, i'm not feeling this song as much.

i do like American Eulogy though, it sounds of something off of Fallout 3 at the begining.

Is there an update on the FLAC version?

Yeah, dude is seeding like shit - and it's taking forever to download. Honestly, if he doesn't fix the connection on his end, we won't have this till tomorrow. Sheez. =/

I love AI it's my second favorite album. Can you guess the first

I used to hate Know Your Enemy but like Dj Rosstar said a while ago it made more sense as a song on the album then as a standout single.

Right, I should've clarified myself...21CB is much less linear in its "story" than AI was. I still think that it relies on imagery more than a discernible story though. Viva La Gloria!, Last of the American Girls, and Christian's Inferno are great character songs though.

Jose, in my defense Billie is trying to pull something Who-and-Beatle-like off here. he is not Roger Daltry nor John Lennon, but i do like the ending a lot.

Actually wouldn't be far off. Song is about pharmaceutical drugs. Most folks get high off Pain Killers, and those most certainly get you constipated. All that Codeine.

Have you checked the mininova torrent yet? I'm debating on downloading it!

Ya know what? That actually makes me happy. They deserve to make an album like that, for themselves if for no other reason. To challenge themselves and us. I look forward to hearing it front to back.

I don't think I hate KYE, it's just meh, it works in the context of the album though. But as a single and shit...eh...y'know

But Norton is like fucking with a hooker with a spray-on condom, you may think you're protected but you'll die in 20 months.

I am. Once it's done, I'm going to have a friend run a spectrals check on it. This will prove whether it's 100% legit, or a transcode.

So do we know whether it's legit or not?

No we don't. Because, someone has to download it completely first, before they can run a spectral check.

I'm not sure about American Eulogy as a single, it's great and one of my favorites but I doubt it will work as a single.

I think 21 Guns, Restless Heart Syndrome, Before the Lobotomy, East Jesus Nowhere and one of the Glorias are the most likely to become singles.

I think Billie said this in an interview before but the album shouldn't be really just a collection of songs that's just merely a collection of songs or singles. It should be something that has to be taken in as a whole. This album, much like the most of the great albums of the past, accomplishes exactly that; it has to be listened from start to finish to get a real grasp of it. Each song is a part of something that is bigger than itself. It's kinda like the belief that we are all part of something bigger than ourselves, something like God possibly? Bad comparison though because of East Jesus Nowhere.

in his own form he is; he won't exactly copy a song's form, but he will base it around a song he likes.

true,

you have a point.

but I, that I am EXTREMELY Beatles familiarized, don't see too much Beatle in the song as you guys say there is.

not all songs with an orchestra and/or a piano are Beatleish.

like I said before, maybe I relate to the song, that's it

UPDATE: Looks like the FLAC on what.cd might be a transcode. :(

I'm guessing this 320kbps rip and the one on Mininova is also a fake.
