AtTheLibrary19
Honestly I love the new sound and the new album! When AI came out I was all immature about it and bitched about it because it was different than the old stuff, but I was like 13 then, and well I'm 18 now. I've gotten over the whole "wahh it doesn't sound like Dookie or Insomniac" thing and I gotta say 21CBD impressed the hell out of me! I like the new combo of their old sound/AI sound/power pop/ and the Who-ish stadium rock sound. Only songs I felt were throwaway tracks were KYE and Last Night On Earth. Highlights in my mind were Before the Lobotomy, Christian's Inferno, Peacemaker, Horsehoes, and American Eulogy. Anyways that's my two cents, can't wait for 7/20 in Boston! pooldude256
I think it's too early to be comparing albums. This hasn't even officially come out yet. You won't love every song on first or second listen. What it does amount to is though...do you like the connecting story (i.e. punk rock opera AI) or an album with strings which connect but they aren't necessarily part of a story (i.e. 21 CB).This is more of an album. Like Warning and everything before it. AI was a punk rock opera. So yeah, there are big differences. I think if you listen to 21 CB on it's own without AI in mind, you'll like it better. I fear expectations might be what kills this album. It's not that it's a letdown, just some people are looking for AI Part 2, a second punk opera. This really ain't it.
