exactly, and people complained about that song being too networkish, I'm like dude, THEY ARE the network, chill out, lot of tracks sounded like the good ol' monotonous Green Day, but Christin's Inferno was one of the songs that made this album more diverse.

kthnks

yeah, Christian's Inferno was probably my favorite song up to this point. it was just such a crazy beat, it's something you can actually dance to!

i'm just starting to listen to Peacemaker and it's actually nice; i like the Spanish Trill at the begining.

I really dig that networky thing. It's all about the palette of sounds, as far as I've been hearing it's pretty diverse. No one wants 18 songs of the same and that was Nimrod's forte too!

For those not in the UK, I added and extra link in the OP, you should be able to listen to it there.

Uh, Americans can listen to it through the UK stream. Or at least that's the case for me. And I definitely didn't reroute my IP address through the UK :whistling:

See The Light reminds me of "You shook me all night long"...

The problem is that Nimrod peaks early and has, sadly, a bunch of filler. This succeeds where Nimrod doesn't.

Last Night on Earth was a bit lacking in my opinion, it's like the Foo Fighter's Home. Echoes, Silence, Patience, and Grace was a fucking amazing album, with the exception of Home. Rock bands in today's world trying to pull off a Paul McCartney isn't working. that's the only song up to now that i really dislike.

i'm currently listening to East Jesus of Nowhere, it's alright. i suppose they were trying to make a hit here, but it just sounds average to me. the other songs up to this point, besides Last Night on Earth, have been amazing. the bass has been very nice, i've noticed that Mike grew a pair for this album. the main riff for East Jesus of Nowhere is nice, but if they played it continously it would be another Know Your Enemy. East Jesus of Nowhere is growing on me though, the whispering part is really nice.

so, i've liked all songs except Know Your Enemy and Last Night on Earth so far.

Billy, you should write a review in one gigantic post since you are probably the most objective and least bias toward Green Day out of everyone here. Haha.

well, I disagree. I love that album from start to finish, no filler at all. Maybe some change of pace but for a band that was spitting angry snot-nosed albums like crazy. Nimrod was a total make-over.

i know he's coming off as cocky and a little bit of an asshole. but at least he's giving us links to download the album. and it probably did take some work to get all of the songs ripped. give him a little bit of credit.

all I know is that he didn't send ME shit, and I don't need it

wait to listen to restless heart syndrome

I hate know your enemy, WAY WAY WAY too repetitive

in east Jesus nowhere I like that part and the one with the clapping "Oh Bless me lord for I have sinned...."

The question is... Is it better than American Idiot? I can't say that it is. American Idiot blew me away, so my expectations upon listening to this album were extremely high. There are some great tracks on here though, but sadly there are the few that kinda turned me off a bit. It's a step behind American Idiot, but I really enjoy it. I think some of you will realize it too once you get through all the hype of listening to it the first time.

The only super fast Green Day song is Platypus as far as I remember

Don't forget about Jaded, Take Back, and St. Jimmy!

1) 21st Century Breakdown

2) East Jesus Nowhere

3) Last Night On Earth

4) Murder City

5) Last Of The American Girls

I hear so much of other bands in this record, which I love. Pink Floyd, Springsteen, Gaslight Anthem, and many more artists do this all the time.

It is too soon for me to rank this against other GD records, but it's definitely up there.

I think the one lyrics that sums up this entire record is:

"I don't give a shit about the modern age!"

Oh yeah, 21 guns is definitely gonna be the third single.

Most people are torn. This is without a doubt their most ambitious/epic and experimental album to date. At the same time, It might be too much for some to digest. But some love it, some hate it.

I think that's about right?

I hate speaking for others tho.

Generally very positive. Mixed on whether it surpassed American Idiot or not though.

I can say that in AI, the songs went together perfectly, in here, it's more of an individual song's spotlight.

I guess it comes with this album being less of a punk-rock OPERA.
