jose armstrong
i'm only on the second song, and 21st Century Breakdown sounds like an upbeat Bohemian Rhapsody.yesI love the guitar that goes along with "oh dream..." since the demo came out, I still like the demo a bit better though :/

Guest Billy
i was feeling the all acoustic Before the Lobotomy song. i suppose the distorted electic guitar is nice, but the acoustic guitar was my favorite part of the that song.

apocalipstick
Static Age didn't really remind me of Church on Sunday, now that I listened to it again there is a little bit of similarity, but American Eulogy reminded me of Deadbeat Holiday right off the bat. Also, when I heard first Little Girl at the Independent show (well, outside of ) it reminded me of Misery as well. The style of the song though, not the melody.I really like this album so far, I do not have an ounce of disappointment and I look forward to blasting this in my car stereo soon It's cool to hear them venturing from the standard pop punk power chords and experimenting with a new level of energy. For those who complain that they miss the "old" Green Day (I'm guilty of this), that's what the old albums are for. Can you imagine Green Day coming out with an album similar to Dookie at this point in time? I think it's cool that they've been "growing up" per se, with AI and 21stCBD. I'm sad that there's no super fast songs on this album though
Green Day 2K (drunken fool)
I liked the songs, "seem" to be powerful, i dont like the way that were mixed...wheres the energy? the usual octane from the GD songs? Maybe im missing Rob Cavallo style.

Guest Billy
yesI love the guitar that goes along with "oh dream..." since the demo came out, I still like the demo a bit better though :/yeah, an all acoustic version of that song would sound so much better.i really liked the acoustic part.dude, I like youyou might like my opinion on Christian's Inferno.the verse is fucking amazing there, it's so indie and punk like it's fucking amazing.the hard chorus parts are swell, i guess.everyone should know that indie is my favorite genre, and the fact it sounds like something the Cooper Temple Clause would make makes that song 10x better. Drink Drank Punk
Horseshoes and Handgrenades (the song) reminds me of something. I can't quite put my finger on it. It may be something Foxboro Hot Tubs...not sure.

pooldude256
Deadbeat Holiday is amazingly underrated."Experimentation is what I love about music. Without it, what is music? Just the same old chords with different lyrics. I like the album for it's experimentation."You can think that if you want. I'm all for change and stuff if the music is still good, but imo it's not anymore. I'm not going to justify green day changing and their music not being as good in my opinion by saying it's experimentation. Experimentation, like anything, can be good or bad. This is bad imo.Apparently we fundamentally disagree. I think the music is good here. A bit overpolished possibly in some places, but that doesn't take away from the overall greatness. I gotta let this thin sink in. But I think it's damn good lyrically and musically as a whole it's kickass.Just keep listening. First listens often aren't the best indicators. You gotta let the music sink in. I'm sure a lot of people hated AI on first listen, but grew to like it. Same will happen here I think. And for those making the comparisons to Warning, yeah maybe this album is what it would be like if AI and Warning had a child. Not a bad comparison though, I love Warning. And there are some definite similarities, especially in songs like Peacemaker and Mass Hysteria. Green Day Nerd
apparently we get a trollish n00b every album's era?i know he's coming off as cocky and a little bit of an asshole. but at least he's giving us links to download the album. and it probably did take some work to get all of the songs ripped. give him a little bit of credit. Well, maybe that China punk album that has been talked about sure it's intriguing though The only super fast Green Day song is Platypus as far as I remember
Guest Billy
Last Night on Earth was a bit lacking in my opinion, it's like the Foo Fighter's Home. Echoes, Silence, Patience, and Grace was a fucking amazing album, with the exception of Home. Rock bands in today's world trying to pull off a Paul McCartney isn't working. that's the only song up to now that i really dislike.i'm currently listening to East Jesus of Nowhere, it's alright. i suppose they were trying to make a hit here, but it just sounds average to me. the other songs up to this point, besides Last Night on Earth, have been amazing. the bass has been very nice, i've noticed that Mike grew a pair for this album. the main riff for East Jesus of Nowhere is nice, but if they played it continously it would be another Know Your Enemy. East Jesus of Nowhere is growing on me though, the whispering part is really nice.so, i've liked all songs except Know Your Enemy and Last Night on Earth so far. Peel Slowly And See
Yes, when The Clash started experimenting they were just fucked then. This is a diverse album. In case you haven't noticed, I've hinted several times that this is the London Calling or Exile On Main St. of our age. It's diverse, experimental, and grand. Drink Drank Punk
The Hives.I don't think that's what I was thinking of since I never listen to them but there certainly is a shit load of similarity there.
