but.. Fashionvictim86 (whom I worship for the creation of GDA my second home..) have u met the band?

Thanks. And yes I have.

no, not really i do what i'm told. otherwise, i would "punk" and that's the last thing i want to be considered. you're murdering the ellipsis; for the love of grammar, use a single period or exclamation mark.

How's this?

It's 3AM, and I don't give a flying fuck about grammar right now!

Heres my beef. The band and various magazines have been setting high expectations for this album. How its better than American Idiot and crap. When the media conditions its readers of this info, it’s natural to have a positive registration towards it. They’re buttering you up to sway you into thinking its that bombastic. The same happened when American Idiot was a couple months shy of release. I was skeptical how Green Day would even consider going that route, but they pulled it off. This new album is increasingly becoming misleading and that is somewhat false advertising. If we the fans are expecting an album that’s supposedly American Idiot’s successor, you’re damn right the videos should be nothing short of spectacular. Instead, it was just uncreative and fell flat. The video is forgettable cause there’s nothing gripping about it. Green Day performing in the dark while being monitored by cameras. I’m probably the last person to bitch about Green Day, but this the first time I’m actually detecting some delusions of grandeur here. Id say if the album was just a back to basics record with no overdrawn themes, then the video would be a nice welcome. But since the band and the media are labeling it another punk opera that’s better than American Idiot, it was a deplorable effort.

Oh and to correct everyone.

80s = radical

90s = da bomb

00s = for the win

hah, not really.

word association my ass; soy means i am in Spanish.

I did not know that. No need to take that tone :(

lol

BTW all music videos suck, as they are just promotion for music labels

Ever notice how all music videos have the little info in the corner, and they ALL mention the artists' label?

Yeah, you're right... Well, not about the 'all videos suck' thing, because I don't think so. On that LivingSocial thing on facebook, I rated the top 5 favorite videos.Walking Contradiction, Take On Me, Buddy Holly, Basket Case & Sabotage were my picks, because they're all great videos. That Fatboy Slim video w/ Christopher Walken was great, as was the OK GO one with the treadmills. I think they're sometimes really interesting and inventive. Beastie Boys had no permits or anything when making Sabotage, and considering that and just the cheesiness of it, it was brilliant. I love music videos, but these days they're all too damn generic. They all look the same, especially the rap videos.

Okay, that's all.

Really? What about the acronym FTW (often seen in exclamations such as "Green Day FTW!")?

Oh, and early 00s: Sweet, Sick, etc.

The media may be at fault, but in all honesty, we haven't heard the album yet! And everyone that's been to the concerts, save a precious few, say the music is amazing. Maybe Green Day don't want it to go down like American Idiot did. We don't know what they're planning. I know Warner's job is to sell records, period. Green Day's job is to play music, because they love to do it. I think a freaking music video should be the least of their worries. No, this one doesn't quite live up to maybe what we were all expecting, but I certainly don't think it's crap, either. We need to cut them some slack and let them do their jobs, I trust them. They've never released crap before.

I love 80s music videos the best. :D Video Killed the Radio Star is one of my all time favorites.

I must say the new Eminem video is funny, I love how he makes fun of Amy Winehouse. I have no idea why that girl is famous.

For some reason that reminds me of the movie Mean Girls. "Shut up!" I didn't say anything. :lol:

I've not seen it, but some of his were downright hilarious. And yeah, I love a lot of 80's music, period, videos included.

And she's famous because she's a train wreck. She's got a beautiful voice, but she's driving herself into the ground, and the world loves to watch that sort of shit for some reason.

i've done it before, on accident.

I've said it out loud. And I'm not a nerd, I'm a dork, tyvm.

Then where is "Sweet"'s home? I know it's been used for a long time, but I've never heard it with quite the frequency it's used now.

Suuuuhweeeeet. I say that all the time.

Shes very talented but she cant stay out of trouble. Its a pity seen such amazing talent going to waste. Her label sent her on a 3 week holiday to the carribean and come back with some material for new songs. She spent 3 weeks on the booze and on her back lol

Eminem is pretty much the only rap artist I like. I just love how he makes fun of celebrities.

I hate her voice. She sounds like a whiney bitch.

Heh, I'm ashamed to say that I actually kind of like Eminem. In fact, right now I'm alternating between working out to The Eminem Show and posting on here. :-/

My fiance says "and then" a lot. Like the chinese lady from the movie Dude Where's My Car? when they are ordering food. Yes, many times I have gotten in trouble for calling him out on that. :D

Well, it's 3:30. I need to rest up. I have a lot of work to do tomorrow. Good night everyone!

"Sweet" was a mid 90s term, but South Park made it popular in 1997. Then Family Guy stole it in 1999. My friends and I used to use to say it in high school.

I like some of her songs, but overall, I'm not a fan... I was really digging an Eminem song last night (Til I Collapse, great song), had it turned way up, and I was thinking how distinct he is. I know him when I hear him, and there are a few other rap artists I recognize when I hear them. Otherwise, they all sound the same, look the same, rap about the same stuff. Women, liquor, sex and money. Oh, and violence. Not my bag. I like some of it, but definitely not much of it.

Same here. I hate most rap because it seems like there's absolutely no thought put into it whatsoever. I mean, I think I could write a better, more coherent song in five minutes than the 50 Cent songs I've heard. It seems like they just rap about women, bling, guns, and being in da club. Amy Winehouse really isn't that great, though.

(Oh, and South Park=fantastic. WAY better than Family Guy.)

Nooooes! Family Guy owns everybody! lol I lost interest in South Park years ago. Family Guy still remains funny to me, it's so classic.

Wow, we're going horribly off topic. I'm going to bed! :lol: Night :bored:
