"Know Your Enemy" Music Video

Yes! Thank you.

Ok this will be as brief as I can make it I am going intodeatail though about some of the stuff in teh video. I hate being spoiled with stuff so that si why...anyway.

First of all, the small images are what make the video powerful. It is not "Do you know you enemy?" because of massive special effects. Which I know many people were dissapointed about. It is about all the fucking cameras everywhere. The grocery store, the bank, they have them where I work. I am pretty sure they probably watch people take a dump.

It is the barbed wire, the helocopters with the spotlights.

It is about whatever you would call it, The Government, Society, whatever name. Do you know if they are entirely the enemy, partly the enemy? Do you really pay attention to the small things around you?

Anyway my two cents.

Yes the fire was cool. To me it represented revolution, renewal, and violence.

I think this video, like the song, has two levels - the stuff you talk about, and then the personal angle. From the personal level - the enemy within - this video screams paranoia. There's the big, beautiful sky, but the band is trapped inside this concrete wasteland, isolated, surrounded by perimeter fencing and barbed wire, under all kinds of scrutiny. The cameras remind me of that line from Rock and Roll Suicide - 'you're watching yourself, but you're too unfair'. In the midst of it all, this voice fighting to be free of constraint - when the shadows ignite, it's rocket-launching out of that dark place on the demon-flames.

You were disapponted too? I figured you would be.

It just wasn't enough for me. And it looked like it was put together by a five year old with Windows Movie Maker.

Oh, that's a bit harsh...I like the Disney Channel video comparison, myself.

(No, I didn't like it either.)

I loved it...it was simple like the song, but epic!

I love watching our boys perform.

Rock on!

On the upside, the video sucked so much that it made me like the song a lot more in comparison.

Its funny how that happens, how something shitty reminds you how something else is less shitty than it.

Thank you for recognizing my wit.

Sam Bayer only gets a 3 on my shit scale compared to the moron that did this video (839784723947823).

I'm feeling the video a lot more now after reading these two interpretations! I 'thought about it' a little bit, but I guess I didn't think deep enough, which is actually unusual for me, haha. Normally I over-analyze and over-think every little thing.

Thanks for making me appreciate the video more than before, you two! =)

"Hey guys, lets have lower production values than the videos from your last album, arbitrary shots from different kinds of cameras, and finish it off with a random, but lame inferno of fire as the background. And lets add some barbed wire shots and a shot of the capitol so that we can pretend that the video actually conveys some message. It will be great!"

Here here!

I spend money on their shit, and they in turn spend my money on SHIT. A giant, smelly, rotting turd of a video.

By the way, we need our own thread. We do magical things with our banter.

I'd rather they had refunded my the money for my shirt at the Fox and not made a video at all.

I fucking concur. We need our own forum, goddamnit.

I kind of liked the idea that you mentioned. But I wasn't really feeling the video :/ And with the fire....

To be honest, I liked it. I pretty much suck at making reviews unless I'm forced to, so I'll just say I give it two thumbs up. Can't wait for the next single.
