Freeny
Okay, so it seems like everyone's sharing their "my first Green Day song"-story and the first song I heard was Boulevard of Broken Dreams since it was on the radio all the fuckin time. And I wasn't really complaining. I thought it was a good song but I didn't really care. Then I heard Wake Me Up When September Ends. That was what made me "borrow"(aka steal) my sister's American Idiot CD and listen to it again and again and again... And after that I just got all the other records, and they were just as good, if not better. And if anyone wants to know, I've been a fan for about 4-5 years now.I believe I'll always love these records that Green Day has made so far, more or less. At least they'll always be close to my heart. But you never know what happens, I mean, what if they make records that aren't good at all? Not that I think that would happen, and if it would I'd still go see shows with them, but you know..Anyways, today I love Green Day as much as every other nimrod on here. I'll just hope they'll be this awesome forever.
drumstick
I've been their fan for 3 and a half years That's not much but it seems like I know them my whole life! They are really something indescribable in my life and I can say that I'm almost completely sure that I'll listen to them like forever! I know it sounds kinda stupid now but since the first time I heard them I don't listen to any other band! My life is totally subordinated to Green Day! Hermione
My best bud is 15, and she's been a fan since Dookie... her parents bought it and her mom would put it on headphones up to her stomach, and she would dance along to it... and she continued to listen when she was born, and she STILL listens to them...That's so cool, and perfectly believable. When my sister was pregnant with her son she and I would listen to and sing Green Day all the time, he probably got sick of it in there. Now he's 1 and he'll dance around to it and copy the guitar on Hitchin A Ride, baba baba baba babababa . I wonder if he'll end up like your friend, he's definitely been given a good musical start anyway.

Chad is Rad
I know for sure, that Green Day will always be my favorite band. They've been my favorite for going on 5 years, and I honestly can't see that ever being different. A band that's better than Green Day???? No fucking way! It just isn't going to happen, not in this lifetime, or the next. I'm also planning on getting my GD tat in June.
Juju
I have a feeling I'll stick with Green Day 'til the end. I haven't been a fan for as long as some other people (only about 7 or 8 years), but their music still means more to me than any other band out there... and it probably always will.I'm definitely in for the long haul. Esmeralda
I've been a fan for 4 and a half years I think, and I still like them like when I was 11. Green Day was the first band I got obsessed, I may like other bands but Green Day will always be my favorite band.
insanedrummer
Of course. Listening to the same band for a long time is hard to do.Especially because Green Day doesn't have 39048309483084 different songs. The reason why you used to look them up all the time was because they were new to you. When you discover something new, you're curious, and you want to look into it more. Now that you know a lot about them, you don't care as much.Very true. You should be a psychologist haha
xVanessa86x
im not as obsessed as before because ive grown to love other bands/music just as much which i think is much healthier i always will be a fan I was the same way, overly obsessed with Green Day and such but I'm definitely in this completely even though I started loving Green Day when American Idiot came out. 5 years and still a proud Green Day fan =)
mad hatter.
I've been a fan for about five years now. And while I'm not as obsessed as I was back in 6th/7th grade, I'm still pretty damn obsessed with these guys and most definitely in for the long haul. They own too much of my heart to not be. x]

My fire my have died down, but it doesn't mean I'm not in for the long haul cause I am, I tried to be the best fan I can be(if there even is a way to do that)I think I'll never grow out of them because Green Day is pretty much the basis for the kind of music I listen to today. and they've helped with a lot of difficult things in my life so yeah, I'm in for the long haul. Jaymee!!
I assume that they will always be 'my band' (along with Aerosmith). I mean, during the 5 year break between AI and 21st CB, I admit that I kind of just stopped caring about them as much as I did...but about 2 years ago it all just started up again. I got excited hearing them mentioned in any way, shape or form.I've been a fan since 94, and there's no way I'm leavin' em now. I know tons of other people though who used to just be absolutely in love with the band, and now couldn't give a flying fuck about them. That's sad. woahinez
been a fan for about 5 years and i still love them and during that break between AI and 21CB I did start to loose interest in them and kinda stop caring but now im excited as ever to hear new material and i don't think I ever stopped loving them. i just needed a break from them.they will always have a special place in my heart and the fact that they were the first band i got into makes it more special. {sPaZzCaSe}
*shrugs* I've been listening to Green Day since I was little (Dookie Era, because my older cousin had the cassette. {Can you believe cassette's actually existed?}) Anywho, I'm 20 now, so it's been about 10 years for me. I've always said Green Day was my favorite band, because with out them I wouldn't have made it through most of Jr. High. Plain and simple, they saved my life (as cheesy as it may sound) and they've kept me amazed from album to album. Hopefully I'm a fan forever. Colin
I think its kinda ridicilous that there are like 16 year old here saying oooh i've been a fan of Green Day for 9 years. Come on like! Your only saying that because you dont want to be seen as the dude who isnt a Green Day veteran or an American Idiot n00b. Who cares what era you joined in? Green Day fans are all one, an hella sexy
Greenday_Aussie
Ive had the privilage of never being bored of GD during the break. Because after a year and a half or two, I got Internation Superhits, then Dookie, FINALLY listened to Warning (and hated it, what a shame, its so awesome) then got....Nimrod! LOVED IT! Then 1039, then Kurplunk! recently bought Insomniac and Shannies.Never a dull moment in this GD fans life of being a fan () Now I have to buy the real copies of Dookie and Warning. Im gonna buy them when I go to my home town in a few months, strangly, as I typed this, I just realised that the first 2 - 3 songs I heard from GD were from these albums. Im a nostelgic idiot like that, I have to buy them there I love/hate being a Basket Case XD
