The Day of silence 2009

Peace and Rainbows

Recommended Posts

Hey guys just wondering if any of you are going to be doing the day of silence. It is april 17th. It's basically where you don't talk all day. I'm doing it to honor my gay friends, myself , david Bowie and Billie Joe ARmstrong(BI Power!).

Never heard of it.

But not speaking all day to honor something is a bit strange.

And I won't be able to not talk anyway.

What's the point? Are you saying if I don't talk for a whole day, gay people will have more rights?

I'm downtown the 17th and I'm very sure I'll talk the whole day.

And like Peter said I don't get the connection with gays and silent.

To be honest I prefer Christopher Street Day anyway.

I won't be able to not talk.

I have to talk a lot at school, plus I'll have the debating competition then where all you have to do is talk, talk and talk.

I'll do it.

I don't care what it's for, I want a challenge. It'll be fun. An achievement. I need some of those.

If I didn't talk for more than 10 minutes, my parents would think I had problems.

I'll give it a try, just for the hell of it.

Nope, never heard of it before, and won't do it.

I don't see the point of doing a day of silence anyway. It's not like you're helping gay people or something. :)

I'd do that.

It's to show that you care enough about Gay Rights to commit yourself to a day of silence in honor of it. Not to physically help the cause, just to show you support it.

It can't be a great idea if it doesn't serve a good purpose. If it doesn't change anything, how can it be worth it?

I'm not disagreeing with the fact that gay people should have the same rights as everyone else, but how does not talking for 1 day help that? It doesn't make any sense, it doesn't change anything.

You said it might have an impact. An impact on whom? What kind of impact?
