What I regret the most is that I won't be able to see them playing such spontaneous and intimate shows like those two or the Foxies ones for example. I mean, GD shows are undeniably amazing, but that's not quite the same.

You have absolutely no idea what the future may hold for you! Maybe they will visit your country, and play a surprise small venue just for fun. Or maybe within the next few years, you'll travel somewhere and they'll just happen to be playing a small venue there. You never know - these boys are constantly surprising people, so don't give up on getting exactly what you want.

I am, but I'm happy for them as well.

This is going to sound so weird because I barely know anyone here.

But whenever I read your stories and see the pictures and watch the videos, I'm just..like..really glad for you guys.

Like in that picture of adie from germany and Paulina (I think?..sorry if I got the name wrong), you can tell they're really excited and stuff, which makes me jealous but really..like...happy (sorry for being repetitive, can't think of a better word) that you guys got to experience that and you're sharing it with people who never have.

That being said.... I'm glad you guys had such a great time

I can't wait until I finally get to go to one of their shows

I know exaclty what you're talking about.

"Little girl" was also new to me. I never heard of it before but it was a kickass song.

The next few songs were "Viva la gloria" (the only song with this name that they played), "Before the lobotomy" and "Christian´s inferneo". All amazing songs!!!

The next one was "All my love" which did NOT remind me of the song from "Heart like a hand grenade" at all! I´m sure this one is a different one and it will be on the album. One song that we missed was "Last night on earth". I don´t know if they changed the title to this one or if it won´t be on the album...but there was no song at this show with a title like this.

First of all: THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH FOR THE REVIEW, it sounds amazing.

Second: Little Girl is the new title for the second Viva la Gloria, and Last Night on Earth is most likely All My Love. :)

Yeah me too, the Foxies thing still saddens me :/ . But I suppose the vast majority of fans are in the same boat, it's not like there's only a handful of people missing out. The few people who do get that stuff are just very very lucky, but I know a normal show will still be amazing.

Holy fucking shit!!!!! :woot::woot:

I wasn't here one day and I missed so much!

Gosh, that's amazing! All the pictures and videos...ohh

Viva La Gloria is so beautiful and it made me cry. Oh fuck :P

Anyways, I'm so happy for you Anja! Seems like it was an amazing night! (I only can imagine  )

You must be soooo happy :D

Yes, the german (or dutch) site that got to listen to a lot of tracks got a tracklist (not of the record, only the songs they heard) from the Warner people that said: "Viva la Gloria? (Little Girl)"

Aw, I love your attitude! And you're right about them, when it's about GD you can never be sure of anything :P

Okay, I have no words for last night but I try to find some!

When I woke up yesterday morning, I would never have thought of anything like this!!!! I know it sounds crazy but I kind of swore myself to never never never see this band live cause I wanted them to be untouchable for me!! (Glad, I changed my mind that fast lol)

So I got a message yesterday with a hint that they would play tonight! I stayed with my computer the whole afternoon and didn´t even got up from bed. I listened to Live 105 the whole time, hoping they would announce something. And then finally I heard the moderator saying that he has to make an announcement! Stupid as my computer is, it broke down exactly in the second when he made the announcement  I restarted my pc as quickly as possible and went back online to the Live 105 website! And what did I see there? "Green Day live in the DNA Lounge. Get tickets NOW!"

I freaked out, klicked on the link and almost burst into tears when I noticed that the link didn´t work for me for some reason. I immediately called Paulina, telling her to get on that website and she ordered two tickets for us! Seriously, I never had a more exciting phone call lol We both freaked out and almost cried over that! This was an unbelievable moment for the both of us!

At around 4.30 I left the house to get the bus over the bride to San Francisco! I arrived at the venue at 6pm. At that time the line wasn´t very long. I would guess about 20 people which was fine with me! It was freezing cold there, though and it kind of remembered me on thuesday night when Paulina an I stood outside of The Independent in the freezing cold and just listened to the show! I still couldn´t imagine that I was about to see Green Day live! For the first time EVER! I guess the shock over that was too big to realize it.

Paulina finally made it to the venue at about 7pm and we both just smiled at each other the whole time. After a while they split the line into two lines: one for wilol-call (people who have a ticket) and one for those who didn´t have a ticket. I couldn´t believe how many did not have one. We were the fourth and fifth people in line after they split it!!! That made us even more excited cause we knew we had a big chance to stand in the first row!

They split the line for a second time: one for people who got their ticket from the DNA website and one for those who got theirs from the Idiot Club! Luckily, they let us in first so we just ran inside to the stage and...there we were, in the first row!!! :woot:

The cold kind of took over me and I still had a hard time to realize what was happening right now!

The venue hold about 200 people and the stage was soo small that I could barely imagine that Green Day (the band who played in front of 65.000 people) would soon play on this stage!!!

I looked around the balcony, hoping to see Adrienne but I didn´t see here. But who I saw was Davey Havoc from AFI, one of my favorite bands!!! I could swear he noticed me when I looked up to him which I did like every two minutes! And I also noticed Bill Schneider (! :P) He hang around the stage with some other roadies.

After a while, a guy came down with the setlist and put it right in front of us, next to mikes mic stand. Did I mentioned that I stood right in front of the mic stand?! haha I never thought I would ever be sooo close to them! The setlist was exactly the same as the one the played in The Independend. But we knew that they didn´t follow it so we hoped they would just play requested songs.

At around 10:15 the music stopped playing and everyone expected the show to begin now. I could swear, my heart stopped beating for a second but then another song started playing and everyone was like "Urgh". The same thing happened a few more times until FINALLY at around 10:40 the music stopped playing AND the lights went off!!! I screamed my heart out like everyone else around me and Tré was the first who came down the stage. Then Mike and then Billie! And Jason. Oh, and the other guitar player who´s name is Jeff if my memory serves me right. Billie introduced them all to us later.

He started by saying "Closer, closer, closer"... Surprise!

They started off with "21st century breakdown" and I could swear, Tré was kind of surprised when he saw me singing along to the whole song

Mike was right in front of me and so was Tré with the only difference that he was a bit further afar. But we had a lot of eye contact :eyebrows: xD

It was so much fun watching Tré playing. He made funny faces all the time or just joked around with the people on the balcony like Davey Havoc (and is possibly girlfriend with whom he later left the venue together. Can´t tell who exactly it was)

Adrienne was now on the balcony, too and every time I looked at Billie, I could see her, too in the corner of my eye. I´m sure she saw us when we noticed here cause I got like super excited when I first saw her up there and smiled all the time and she smiled back.

One thing I noticed about the song: The line "From Mexico to the Berlin wall" was not in the song anymore!

The next track was "Know your enemy". Most people knew the lyrics to the chorus and it was sooo much fun to hear this song live! I´ve never seen a show with happier fans then last night! I wonder why my cheeks didn´t even hurt cause I smiled throughout the whole show!

Btw: Billie said they would play the entire album tonight! There was one song, though that I couldn´t find on the setlist. They played one between "Little girl" and "Restless heart syndrom".

"All my love" was beautiful though. It was just Billie singing this song and the other guys playing their instruments. It was beautiful to see Billie singing such a beautiful love song and I always looked at Adrienne to see her look : D

There was one moment when Billie went down on his knees, getting closer and closer to his fans.

Later in this show he did the same and his face was right in front of me

At one point, Billie stepped on my hand (which wasn´t very nice and hurt me :P) cause we all had our hands/arms on the stage and since they were so close to the crowd with no barrier between stage and crowd, it was kind of predictable that something like this would happen.

Billie noticed it, raised his leg and hold it right in my face, pretenting he would kick me

Another great moment was when Billie got closer to Mike, holding his mouth to his ear as if he wanted to whisper something to him but then he kissed Mike on his cheek! And later he even kicked Mike in his leg which was unexpected to him as I noticed from his look

Billie later pulled up a young boy on stage who seemed very happy cause he jumped up and down all the time. Billie gave him a hug and then just continued playing the song. After they finished the song, Billie asked the boy to do a stage dive what he did of course.

Billie did a stage dive later, too, still having his guitar around his neck. And then there was a security guard on the side of the stage and he spontanousely ran over the stage and jumped into the crowd. That was very unexpected and I´m glad he didn´t jump on me cause he was like four times bigger and heavier than most of the people in the crowd.

[/Part one]

:o thanks a lot that souds amazing

i'll be waiting for the second part

I'll never get over missing Foxies show as well. And I don't really know why, there wasn't a slightest chance I'd see them. But hey, we never know what happens, right? :D Maybe the Rev will decide to visit us, neglected Europeans, some day :P

Anja and Paulina - Thank you both very much for your LONG reviews, kind of you to share so much - particularly great for us folk back in England who are gonna have a bit of a wait before enjoying it ourselves.

Hearing you guys describe it makes it easy to imagine what it would've been like, any massive Green Day fan can imagine how excited you must have felt - it's exciting that anyone gets to enjoy a night that a lot of us have hoped for.

The photos ruled, the reviews ruled. Thanks a lot.

Roll on UK tour!! :)

Paulina and Anja, your reviews were fantastic. It's obvious you guys had a great time, and are so lucky to have been right at the front and got to take pictures with Billie afterwards.

Can't wait for them to start touring...my work doesn't really permit me to fly off to San Francisco at a moment's notice so I'm anxiously waiting for them to announce those tour dates and start making plans!!
