Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love
And I still don't hear an "F" for "fountain" i'm still hearing a "Bar" sound. And idk...I think "Bargain" makes more sense than "fountain"I definitely hear "foreman". It could be fountain too, though I don't hear that, but I'm 100% sure it starts with an "F".. Modern Zero.
I definitely hear "foreman". It could be fountain too, though I don't hear that, but I'm 100% sure it starts with an "F"..Idk...I don't think I hear a "ore" part in there though for "Foreman" or a "tain" for "Fountain" unless he's just saying it too fast or something..But....I keep hearing a "gain" for "bargain" in there....maybe it's just me...idk...xDI guess "Burning down the fountain of control" does kinda make sense cause it's like when you hear "Burning" it obviously means something that's hot and then with fountain you think of water, and so the whole "Fire vs. Water" opposites and it's kinda weird cause it's like you're burning water down, when usually you use water to put out the fire, but in this case it's the other way around.....and now that I think of it, in the song "See the Light" Billie does sing something like "I drank the water from the hurricane/I started the fire just to see the flame" which also is a "Water vs. Fire" reference...so yeah...I'm not saying that "Fountain" isn't a possibility cause, I agree...there is a faint "f" in there, although i've been hearing some sort of a "B" sound. Cause like I said before, it could be that it is "fountain" and that Billie's just saying it too fast. But when I was thinking of the "Burning down the bargain of control" I was thinking that sense, "Bargaining" is something that people do to exchange something at some sort of price that it's like that we don't want the control that people are bargaining for, and so we want to burn that down. Sort of like, we don't want to be bribed or scammed by anyone, sorta like the whole "fighting the system" concept or a "Stick it to the man" sort of concept.So...yeah lol I guess that both would make sense and both would work. I guess we're just going to have to wait for the lyrics?

I guess were just going to have to wait for the lyrics? Just listened it again. Now I hear "foretain" I guess I'm not really reliable xDAnd now I keep switching between 'foreman' and 'foretan/tain'....I don't think we should already speculate about the meaning, for every possibility you can think of something that makes sense...like you just did, fountain and bargain both make sense. My English is way to crappy to understand every meaning in the song, but I'm sure there's something that lets 'foreman' make perfect sense tooI just listened it on my iPod, I usually hear lyrics better there, and there I hear 'foreman' without a doubt..So yeah, I think we just have to wait for the lyrics

For every possibility there is something anyone can think of that makes sense in some way. All I've got to say is...with every new Green Day album I just get more and more impressed with Billie's songwriting ability It's just....amazing. It's like, "Wtf goes on in that guys head? How does he think of these kinds of things?" xD

(and I also love GDA's song meaning section, I can't figure out what songs actually are about way too often . Though I still don't see why HAR is "This song tells a story of sex and drugs while your world is crashing down.". I guess I'm just too stupid or something )I usually don't come any further than "It's really well done that it rhymes this way and still stays in the metrum!"....I have a feeling no one will understand this... TheGreatAustralianMidgetToss
i hear "wah hey" instead of "right here" or something like that. like.. it doesn't have no sense, just like a shou-out like "hey ho" or something like that

I understand what you mean. I just love digging into songs to find out what exactly they mean and interpret them how I want. I think that's one of the biggest reasons why I love American Idiot because Billie wrote it in a way where anyone can interpret what the songs mean on their own. Yeah, he had a simple plot line, but he left the details inside that plot line up to the fans to figure it out, and what's one thing that I really like about that album. It's written in a way that anyone can relate to it. I think sometimes, I do kind of go overboard with my interpretations, that sometimes I should just enjoy the song and not look so much into them, but idk...I think that when I do interpret lines and stuff, that I get a better sense of the concept and I actually start relating to it even more. I just love the way Billie writes and all of his descriptions on the songs. The songs are just...genius xD It's kinda weird though because, for example, the song Jesus of Suburbia. For the longest time I really didn't seem to connect a lot to it personally. I mean, i've always loved the song, but I never applied it to myself i guess. Well, not until recently actually did I find this huge connection to it. The whole "I want to run away, I'm not happy where I live, I feel trapped, I want adventure" concept. All those kinds of things I really relate to, and I'm sure a lot of other people relate to it too So..yeah lol I just can't wait for this new album! Know Your Enemy already sounds so amazing =D

Nzap
Isn't the letter "g" pronounced "gi" or "gy"? So by that, f-a-g, could be the effigy part: Eff, ei, gy =effigy? That is the question.I think it is effigy, but I think there is a possibility for it to be f-a-g (I do not mean the word fag, just the three letters said in succession)
VivaLaAla
Do you know the enemy?Do you know your enemy?Well gotta know your enemy right here!Violence is an energy/anarchyagainst the enemywell violence is an energy right hereWell bring it on, the furythe choir infantryrevolts against the honor to obey??????????????????????????Silence is an enemyagainst (¿democracy?)rally up the demons of your soulDo you know the enemy?DO you know your enemy?Well gotta know the enemy right here!Insurgency will risewhen the blood's been sacrificedYou'll blind......It's not 'right here'. If you notice in the KYE music video that was on CBS that one night, they show him up close when he sings that line, and you'd be able to tell if he said'right here' or not. Then, yes, it is 'violence is an energy.'And at the end it's 'you'll be blinded'...etc, etc, etc. Hmm I don't think it's "Gotta know the enemy, right here"I think it's just noise rather than words, haha, something like "wa-hey" or "well hey". Just like the "o-hey-o-hey" background part later in the song, it sounds more like just a general rally-cry type of sound. Thanks for working out the lyrics, singing along to this is very enjoyable I Agree With You. Cause If You Look At His Mouth When They Close Up On Him In The Beginning Of The KYE Video, You'd Be Able To Tell If He Says 'Right Here' Or Not, And His Mouth Is Just Open Like He's Saying 'Wah-aye' Or Something Like That. I Find It Pretty Hot.
