Know Your Enemy Lyrics

Recommended Posts

This is my final lyrical opinion :D lol I'm done, my ears are numb and ringing.

Do you know the enemy

d'you know your enemy

well gotta know the enemy, wa'hey x3

rise into some anarchy

against the enemy

well violence is an energy, wa'hey

bringin on the fury

the choir infiltrate ?

revolt against the honor to obey

*something something* the effigy

the vast majority

we're burning down the ??? of control

Silence is an enemy

against your urgency

so rally up the demons of your soul

Do you know the enemy

d'you know your enemy

well gotta know the enemy, wa'hey x2

Insurgency will rise

when the blood's been sacrificed..

we'll be blinded... fades out.

Irregardless of whether it's 'wa'hey' or 'well hey' it sounds like 'wa'hey' to me.

My poor ears.

I think that's what I'm hearing.

Just listened to the 90sec preview alongside your lyrics writeup. With the caveat of the "wa'hey" that still seems up for debate, I think you nailed it. Thanks.

I honestly don't think he's saying "right here." cause that doesn't make any sense.

Maybe it's just "Right."

"Gotta know your enemy right."

I completely agree with you, and he just "stretches" the right, so it kinda sounds like"Raaaeeyyt" I know thats not how its spelled, but it sounds like that..

makes a lot of sense

Ri-GHT

makes the last part of the word sound stronger.

I think he's singing "Well God I know the enemy", could be either though...

^ I agree completely.

This is what I have:

Do you know the enemy?

Do you know your enemy?

Well, gotta know the enemy (Wah-eh!) x3

Violence is an energy

Against the enemy,

Well, violence is an energy (Wah-eh?)

Bringin on the fury

the choir infantry

we vote (revolt?) against the honor to obey

(Woh, oh, oh, oh!)

Overthrow the effigy

The vast majority

We're buring down the bargain of control

(Woh, oh, oh, oh!)

Silence is the (an?) enemy,

Against your urgency so rally up the demons of your soul! (Woh, oh, oh, oh!)

Do you know the enemy?

Do you know your enemy?

Well gotta know the enemy (Wah-eh!) x2

Insurgency will rise

When the blood's been sacrificed

We'll be blinded.......

(Guitar solo here maybe?)

And then later on in the song:

Well violence is an energy (Woh, oh, oh, oh!)

Well silence is the enemy,

So gimme, gimme, revolution!

Do you know the enemy?

Do you know your enemy?

Well gotta know the enemy (Wa-hey!) x2

Silence is the enemy,

Against your urgency so rally up the demons of your soul! (Woh, oh, oh, oh!)

I'm pretty much positive that those are the lyrics...

Infantry - soldiers who are primarily trained for the role of fighting on foot.

Effigy - a crude representation of someone disliked, used for purposes of ridicule.

Insurgency - a rebellion against a constituted authority.

Those three word's definitions seem to make sense with the song as well.

And it's definately not "Right here"

I'm hearing "Wah-eh" and I think it makes more sense than the "Right here"

And I don't think it's "God I know the enemy"

It's defiantely "Gotta know" although yeah, it does kinda sound like "God I", but I think that "Gotta know" was part of a lyric one of the articles gave us...

Mhmm, exactly.

It goes more along with the whole "Keep your friends close, but keep your enemies closer" concept.

I really don't think there is a 'right here', for the same reason that they sing 'oh eh oh eh' aswel. It's just a cool exclamation. Even slowing it down, there is no 'right here'. There is no 'ght' and 'here' in the sound at all. In ay dialect. It just sounds like 'woah oh'.

I agree.

The "Wah-eh" goes with all of the "Woh, oh, oh, oh's"

It's just something they put in it to add something special to the song.

I definately do not hear a "right here" The first time I heard it, I heard a "Wah-eh!"

When he first says it, you don't hear any "R" in there, I'm hearing more of a "Wa" kind of sound or a "Wo" sound

I agree with most of yours except I think it's...

"We're burning down the bargain of control"

I definately here a "Ba" sound when he says "Bargain" I don't hear an "F"

And it makes sense because when you think of the word "Bargain" it means an agreement to exchange things at a price.

I think in this case, I think it's trying to say that in the song, they don't want that control that people are bargaining for and that they want to burn that control down.
