Well said, amen to that! I love everything about what we've heard so far, if it's possible I'm now looking forward to the album even more.

Aww seems like hardly anyone's excited about this compared to last night. I am :D :D :D

Thanks Hermione - stuff like that just gets under my skin, and after seeing in the movie how the band reacts to some comments, it just kills me. :(

I'm still excited!!! I'm so hyper today, I can hardly contain myself, lol! Glad I am home alone - LOUD music with no complaints!! :D

Why does it seem to me that Green Day are beginning to crawl up their own arses?

Explain J :)

Billie Joe was not happy about some of them, and it was sad really to see him so annoyed/upset about it. (Supposedly there was more commentary like that in other footage not in the movie.) He mimicked some comments in a sarcastic way, and you could tell he wasn't happy. He mentioned that people thought that Warning sucked, and wanted another Dookie, and commented on how their appearance changes when they are on tour/off tour... It was almost as if he was saying - What will make these people happy??? He never came out and said HE read the comments or goes on message boards, just to be clear. For all we know, someone else reads them and shares it with him.

I'm not saying that people shouldn't have an opinion, just that they should remember that they are not only rock gods, they are people, too. :)

Not really. I'm so far up my arse I can see out of my eyes....twice. I'm just thinking Green Day are possibly getting to that stage.

I think they were 'at that phase' during American Idiot.

I totally agree.

what makes me so upset is this enduring talking about Billies hair or his outfit or whatever ...

they're a great band, they're awesome musicians ... who cares about those superficial stupid things like their clothes, hair color or whatever ... I just don't get it

They didn't even write I want to be on TV - it's a cover so technically, still the one.

I know, but still don't like it and they brought it out on their album.

But okay, to keep it on their own songs,, it's one

I'll say one thing; the song is really, really catchy. I mean it's been stuck in my head since I first heard the 30 second preview on Sunday, and I only played that a couple of times! Non Green Day fans are in a for a bit of shock when they hear this on the radio. They'll be humming it and then hating themselves. XD

Yeah, I only listened to the 30 second preview about 4 times, and it's been stuck in my head ever since. I'm going to be really careful not to listen to it again until next Thursday :woot: , because I can easily get sick of songs that get stuck in my head. I don't know enough of it yet to sing the whole thing, so just the "know your enemy" part keeps going over and over.

It is definitely catchy, and I think it'll be funny to hear the reaction of non-Green Day fans .

I agree 100%. I mean; I'm not gonna lie, I like their current garb more than their Warning garb, for example, but don't get me wrong: They look pretty fucking awesome no matter how their hair's styled, and no matter what kind of clothes they're wearing. The music they make just forces them to look stellar 24/7, in my opinion.

Besides that, imagine if they did have a completely different look --- There'd still be whiny comments like, 'omgz they look so different!!!!! fuckin posers omgz!!!!!!1'

So they can't win all around. No one can, I know this firsthand, haha ... But I still felt bad when I heard that Billie takes these kind of bullshit comments to heart. What he needs to do is shove a rusty pipe up their ass and tell them to fuck themselves with it.

=D

I am honestly surprised at how many of you don't like "Know Your Enemy". The reason why Green Day has been my favorite band for over 15 years is because every record sounds different ... you obviously know it's Green Day, but they've never done the same thing twice. I think most of you were hoping for something similar to what we already love, but Green Day songs are written from the heart and therefore you never know what the finished product will sound like.

Personally, I love it. It def. reminds me of Nimrod and Warning (and the b-sides off those records), but it's also another side of Green Day we haven't seen before. They're back!

I'm really not all that surprised --- A large portion of GDC members are generally pretty negative about their favourite band in general. It does suck, though, that people are so negative. :(

I'm trying to limit how much of it I listen to, as well. But damn, it's hard lol I listened to it a LOT last night, trying to figure out the lyrics, but then I made myself quit. I've only listened to it once today.. Even if it's GD, I could possibly get tired of it, and I know i'll be hearing it a lot as it is. On tv, and everywhere else. So i'm trying to pace myself, even though I wanna listen to it over and over... hard
