My joint second favorite band. I like 'em. Been through a few phases of 'meh'ness, but I recently got the first two albums at last (only has stuff like who wrote and 2000 lightyears, and it's really brought them back for me, I, like most here, am uber hyped about the new album. :)

Of course I am. Yes I have gotten into other styles of music but I don't grow out of styles of music either. I mean how can you if you love it you love it. When I'm in my 30's I think I can still listen to Green Day as a way of remembering the past. Green Day are my favorite band and there new album excites me very very very much. But that's because I never obsessed over them. I listen to them but it's not the only music I listen to. I try to find new bands every day. I keep myself entertained. I think if most of you took a chill pill you could still be enjoying them now.

I'm not as obsessed with them as I was four years ago but they're still my favorite band and I still love them. I've started listening to different styles of music, and my music taste has definitely matured since 2005. I've been through a few phases where I go months and I barely listen to Green Day at all. But the new album has definitely brought me back. :D

I've lost the all excitement i feel about them and such, but their music is the only thing that makes GD keep as my favorite band.

I'm not like "Oh, look Billie Joe dyed his hair again" or "Where is the new photos of Mike?" etc...

I only care about their music now and that was the thing that got me into them anyways.

I've been listening to Green Day for 13 years now, and I actually like them more then ever now. I am absolutely floored with the direction the band has taken, and how much they have evolved.

I completely agree. It's not often you get to watch a band like this grow up before your eyes, but they started so young and have stuck together. I'm really proud of them for everything they've done. I have never anticipated an album as much as I'm anticipating this new one.

Back in my super obsessive no-they-are-perfect-all-their-songs-are-the-best days, everything about them mattered: their image, lyrics, actions, etc. cause they were the first band whose music truly clicked with me, so I had high high expectations for anything relating with them.

Now, I really don't care about those other things anymore. As long as they're decent people that keep making awesome music, I'd keep liking them.

Strangely enough though, I'd consider myself a bigger fan of them than I was before.

I guess my teeny days are over haha.

Since the moment I stumbled on American Idiot 4 years ago I have loved this band, and I'm just as excited about them now as I was then. I think I always will be, because Green Day are the best

Well, yeah. A lot. A whole lot

But I can't really speak of 'anymore'. (or 'still'. well, anything that assumes a long time...gah, go crappy vocabulary!)

Aye, I do. But they're nowhere near as good as some would have you believe.

I got so sick of them last year, and just started to listen to them again recently with all the excitement and whatever. But as long as I don't overplay them again, I'll stay interested :) Plus I'm sure I'll always like them because they were the first decent band I ever liked, so they have like sentimental value haha.

I like Green Day still. But probably not as much as the majority of you.

yeah, that's exactly how i feel.

i mean there's only one Green Day song i can listen to without getting bored and that's Poprocks and Coke.

it's just so boring to the point where i have my iTunes set up so that whenever i plug my iPod in i only get one Green Day song out of the hundreds i have on my iTunes.

When I was your age I went through the same thing, only with other bands, obviously. I think it's easy to overdose on music when you're younger and then become sick and tired of it, it happens to most people, especially if you've been listening to them for a long time already. There's so much of the music I loved when I was fifteen/sixteen that i'm just not interested in now. You're still figuring out what it is you like, and it's obvious some bands will come and go.

I've never lost interest in them myself, but that doesn't mean they're all I ever listen to XD. I like plenty of other bands, but I still like Green Day as much as I ever did, and they are my favorite band, if you can call them that.

i've seen a lot of people get sick of the band over the past 3 & 1/2 years, im okay with that.

even the people on here, heck if i didnt like the band i'd still be here just because it's an awesome forum!

personally though, i haven't lost interest yet. im always finding a new video -although thats getting harder lately- or new news is popping up.

and not to mention that i've basically done most of my 'growing up' with them, they're like a piece of me.

(i was 12yrs old and now im almost 16. those are important years of character development).

While I can understand how someone can be a fan of a band/artist for a long period of time, I will never understand how a lot of you guys get so worked up over the smallest Green Day news

Maybe I'm not a teen girl?

GD were my favourite band, by far, between the ages of 14 and 17. I was never so into GD I'd orgasm over a snapshot of a music video but they were easily the biggest band of my life. It's just a case of having increased the amount of music I listen to and as a result Green Day fits in less and less. I still enjoy what I hear but it doesn't engage me as it did when I was 15, as I'm sure it will with most people on this forum.

Nowadays they may get a listen once a week but are by no means a major part of my life.
