Yeah, dreaming is good. :)

I hope you can go, as well. It would be cool to meet a fellow GDC member.

We GDC's are pretty kick ass :D

So, last night i had the great luck of being able to get into the show again. I didn't have a ticket, but about 15 minutes before the show started, a lady came by saying she had an extra ticket. After talking to her some more, I found out that she was a cousin of the main guitarist on stage, Alec Berlin, and that she had come with her husband to see him perform.

The show last night was a lot cleaner, the flying was MUCH better, and the stretchers didn't snag. There was more development of the relationship between Johnny and Whatshername earlier in the show, which I liked.

The band did not show up last night, nor did I expect them too. But that was fine by me, I was more interested in talking with the actors anyways.

My flight is boarding, but I will tell more once I get in SLC.

Once again, Tony Vincent was out of there before anyone could talk to him. A friend told me later that another actor said Tony doesn't really like talking with fans, and is a very private person.

Justin, I agree last night was another awesome night. The only real glitch I noticed was Favorite Son's jacket not being buttoned properly, but since you and Mikey didn't notice it, I'm guessing not many others did either.

What a wonderful trip - wonderful people to share it with - and wonderful memories to bring home. I'll be posting my recap tomorrow. It's mostly written, but I'm too tired today to finish tweaking with last night's updates. It's a great thing that tomorrow is a holiday here :). I'm worn out like an old dish rag!

Hey all -- I'm new on the site and have been reading the posts about AI. Can't wait to see it next week (September 10th and 11th). I'm flying in from NYC. Couldn't risk it not coming to b'way. I'm counting the days and have been waiting since the album came out and the rumors of a movie started to circulate. I think stage is probably a better medium for it.

As for cameras at the show, the reason they don't let people take pictures isn't so much a copyright issue -- the flash is actually distracting and can be dangerous for the performers. And we probably won't see any printed reviews of the show until after press night (Sept 16, I believe) -- it's in previews, which are technically dress rehearsals. So while generally nothing unusual happens, this is the opportunity for the cast and crew to iron out any potential snags.

So those that are currently watching the show and those that have already seen it, keep those comments coming. We're loving every detail!

Welcome to the forum! You're going to love the show. I'll post a recap tomorrow - but it will be full of spoilers, so if you like to be surprised, you might want to wait until after you've seen the show to read it!

Dude, you have the best luck ever.

Glad you got to go again, along with J'net and everyone else who saw it. :)

Thanks. *Fingers crossed*

And, yeah, it would be so awesome.

I spoke to the guy John who plays the lead role of Johnny. What a hottie!! and a nice guy too...anyway, he said it was probably going to go to New York or at least he said "we're hoping. It's looking that way."

Yay - that makes me happy for so many reasons!! :D

So glad you all had a good time again last night - can't wait to read your recap, J'net - spoilers and all!

Ugh... I should be on here more often...

I posted this on IC's forum... I went Friday as well, and I am still coming down from the high of it all.

I was SHOCKINGLY blown away by the presentation. Don't want to spoil it for others either. All I can say, is I cannot sit through a musical. I can never take them seriously. Having only heard these lyrics sung by Billie and having that personal connection with however one interprets or relates to them through the years must be a hard thing to break through. I admittedly was horribly nervous. Plain and simple... I just didn't want this to suck.

When AI started, it was a bit jarring for me.... as the cast started singing, I kind of got that feeling you get when you're not sure you really want to be on this ride. But, I let all the apprehension go and put a faith in the fact that these guys would never share something they too weren't proud of. I just let it all go and went along for the ride... AND I thoroughly enjoyed it. I was sucked into the story on the edge of my seat, even CRYING at times! The cast is amazingly talented, breathing a powerful life into the songs I thought I knew so well, leaving me breathless and wanting more. The story moved me to tears at moments, poignant, witty, heartbreaking and just F'n rocked out at times, believe it or not.

My advice to someone checking it out, is to go into it with an open mind and you might get a new glimpse at just how beautiful and powerful BJ's lyrics really can be. There is one song (unreleased) used during a poignant scene that left me obliterated... again, it's all in how one may relate or not.

p.s.

Lulu! Awesome to see you, your bro and mom again!

Sharon, that was the most memorable bathroom rendevous ever! haha. Meeting Tre and Adrienne was pretty cool and I couldn't think of a better person to share it with.

I think you all can be pretty assured that this thing is going to Broadway or a nice off-Broadway house. Any major play that is extended before it even opens and has the hype and talent behind it that it does... I wouldn't even worried about it, particularly since a lot of B'way shows have closed recently. I give it at least six months, maybe 8. It's coming, don't worry.

I went on Friday! I was blown awaaaaay. I kept getting the chills constantly throughout the show. Not only that but I had just smoked a bowl with Jordan, Zoe, and Cassondra right before the show so it was really overwhelming when we sat down and saw Billie & Adrienne two rows in front of us, and we could see Tre, Mike, and Jason! There were so many people I knew there too! The afterparty thing was pretty cool. T'was a good night :D

Hey, I can't believe I missed seeing you and your pink hair!... my hubby and I were sitting in the seats right behind Billie and Adrienne. Couldn't believe it.

Got to congratulate Billie and thank him for an awesome year, to which he thanked us right back before and after the show. I also chatted with Adrienne first during Sharon and my bathroom run-in and a bit before the show started at our seat... they really are such chill people. Surreal.

I guess with them sitting right in front of us, now that I think about it, why would have I looked behind me? Awful. Sorry I missed you! But, happy to hear everyone I met so "long" ago on that fateful night at DNA enjoyed another "Opening" night together.

Soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo amazing!

I'm totally not a musical theater nerd at all and it completely blew my mind. i kept wanting to sing the whole time but i didn't know what the proper theater etiquette was.

Between Jordan and me we jacked about 30 programs before and after the show. If anyone wants one lemme know because i neeeed to get rid of these.

ahh! is it possible i can get one of them too?

I really really really want to see this. The clip of 21 guns made me cry. It is soooo beautiful and sad. I'm just so incredibly proud of Green Day and everything they've achieved. This is so amazing and I wish I could be a part of it and see it. I'm very jealous of you guys, to be honest..

Sounds like it was fantastic, from what I've read (kinda hard to read thru this thread though! haha). It was great the guys were there on opening night and that they talked with fans and stuff. They're such sweethearts. I would love to meet Adie aswell. She seems so nice and adorable. Glad to hear the ginger hair is still there on Billie Joe, haha! Hoping it makes it to the VMA's..
