For those who are interested, here are the former (and soon-to-be former) Idiots new projects:

Mary Faber, "Smitty" in How to Succeed in Business Without Even Trying

Joshua Kobak, swing in Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark

Currently playing at the Foxwoods Theatre.

Corbin Reid, ensemble in Sister Act: The Musical

Previews start March 24th at the Broadway Theatre.

Michael Esper, "Eli" in The Intelligent Homosexual's Guide to Capitalism and Socialism with a Key to the Scriptures (aka iHo)

Starts March 22nd at the Public Theatre.

Christina Sajous in Baby, It's You

Previews start March 26th at the Broadhurst Theatre.

Wallace Smith in White Noise

Starts in Chicago on April 1st at the Royal George Theatre.

Good riddance indeed Melissa

Really? :ermm: She did an excellent job in both shows today and going by what my friends who saw her at the beginning of the week, she greatly improved. There's no need for negativity.

That made me laugh more than it should.

I haven't seen the musical, but seeing videos of her performance, I kind of agree.

I saw the tweet from Esper and even though I've never seen the musical it made me sad... :(

Casts change all the time but there was something kind of awesome about the original AI cast... I dunno, it just felt kinda more tight knit than normal theatre casts... :S

Please excuse my incredible stupidity - what's the Idiot Nation meet and greet? I'm sorry, I'm totally behind on all the AI stuff!

Also does anyone have any hotel recommendations that are within walking distance of the St James? I found some okay hotels but I don't know if they're really within walking distance. And my last question (finally) - can I get from JFK to the St James/Times Square by public transport or will it have to be a taxi? How much would a taxi be?

Thanks in advance if anyone can help me and forgive my stupidity :)

I agree with you.

I've never seen the musical either..but they just seem perfect as a cast. It's gonna be weird to see someone else replacing them..especially Michael :( It makes me sad that if I ever get a chance to see it, it'll be almost completely different cast :(

I think if the musical tours (and I have heard some rumblings out there about this in the last week), it will be with a completely different cast. Probably a superb one, but not the same people. I'm not a Broadway person, but I get the feeling that being in the touring company of a play is usually considered a "lesser" job in status than being in the Broadway cast, especially the original Broadway Cast. Unless some of these guys don't have anything else at all to do, I think they might pass on touring.

The Idiot Nation Meet and Greet was an event awarded to members of the Idiot Nation who amassed enough points to earn it. You had to join, then do a crapload of PR work like blogging, FB entries and links, holding signs and stuff like that. Most of the people I know who did it are local New Yorkers. Anyway, they had a pizza dinner and a tour of the backstage and got to meet some of the cast members, I believe.

Regarding public transport from JFK to Times Square....there is probably bus service. I don't believe the subway goes in there directly (that always seemed soooo stupid to me that the subways don't serve the airports there like they do in Boston). Unless the area has changed a lot, though, the neighborhood of JFK is not exactly safe. So you might just want to cough up the $30-35 for a cab into town. There are also shuttle services (www.supershuttle.com) that are cheaper for a single person. From LGA into Manhattan is $16 , so it's probably the same or slightly more from JFK. Prepare for a long ride, though - they fill up the shuttle and it makes multiple stops all throughout town to let people off at their hotels or residences. An hour minimum, perhaps more.

Can't help you a lot on the hotel proximity. I know the Milford Plaza is literally right down the street from the St. James and several people have stayed there lately.

Ah, thanks! You just unknowingly answered my question! I'm flying into LGA and staying in the Hampton in Times Square. I guess I'll get some sightseeing done on the shuttle.

Thanks! I think I'll probably get a cab, if my flight was delayed and then I got stuck on the shuttle for ages I could miss the show. Thanks for the advice :)

Yeah. Idiot Nation has different levels after so many points... each level gets you reserved lotto seats but the other rewards include a shirt, a signed memorabilia, the meet & greet. Idiot Nation is opened to everyone in the US. I have friends across the country who do it and then when they come to NYC, they use their lotto seat points.

Anyways, the meet & greet was suppose to be just some pizza with the cast in the mezzanine lobby but because they had a good-bye dinner for Melissa in the lobby, they moved the meet & greet part to the stage and then we taken to John's Pizza two doors down for pizza. Because of the dinner, only Brian, Christina, Stark & Michael came to the meet & greet, which is a number but they were great. Brian talked to everyone. Christina taught some Letterbomb choreography. Michael & Stark did some JOS choreography.

I'm gonna miss Christina and Michael so much because they are absolutely sweethearts but the entire cast is freakin' great. Heh... and Stark's like "Yeah, I'm here indefinitely." One of my friends asked another one of my friends to prom on stage and it was adorable... Stark & Michael were clapping in the back.

And we were all given free tickets for the evening show.

Is the American Idiot merchandise area at the Saint Jame's Theater only open during the show? Or are you able to purchase merchandise before the doors open for the show? I would like to purchase all my goodies ahead of time and bring them back to the hotel so I don't have to carry them around before and after the show.

Thanks!!

Heh. Sorry but I have to be as vague as possible since nothing is officially announced. But look out for more official announcements leading up to the 27th.

is it a broadway actor? or is someone people will know?

Probably shouldn't put this here but oh well.

"I'm honestly not supposed to tell anyone this, and could lose my job over it, but I want the majority of our fan-base to know, that the last American Idiot show ever will be two shows, in the morning and evening. One show with 100% original cast, and then evening show, three men replacing John, Stark, and Michael. Three men, I feel you guys will be extremely pleased about ;) John, Stark, and Michael will be joining the ensemble that night."

It was posted by an anon on Tumblr. I personally don't believe it for a second - the bit about the cast being replaced, that is.

Well if there is any shred of truth in that, I think we can guess who the 3 guys might be

You really can't stop people speculating about things, just saying. Things will spread and have already spread before they get here.

... besides, the idea is ridiculous. I doubt anyone will actually believe it. They shouldn't, anyway.

You think people are smart enough to put two & two together and not believe it, but there will be some out there that will.
