American Idiot Musical (Theatrical Production)

I never thought Sydney was out of place... That's just me, though. I liked Sydney in Andrew's track, moreso than Mikey. However, Mikey did a great job. He did fit in well and reminded me a lot like Gerard. His hair is different than how it was in WSS, which I saw him in a couple of weeks ago. I was able to compare, sort-of, how he moved in WSS and in Idiot and he wasn't stiff or precise like he was in WSS. His costumes could have been better, though. They were a bit homey in some songs. I thought it was kinda funny that he had to carry Billie in DOSJ. LOL. He seemed shorter than Billie. He's gonna have a harder time with Andrew next week. LOL.

Before GR, Billie announced that Mikey had his cherry popped and it was Miguel's birthday. :) Lots of cheers. We sang Happy Birthday to Miguel outside at the end of the show. :)

The pictures are great too

Thanks for the finding. That's really a great article. For one, it answered my question about how Mike and Tre felt about Billie being on AI.

And, oh Billie, what's with you and dresses?

That he did! I was sitting in the front row, on the right, with Allison. When he jumped off the stage, it was right in front of me, and then he walked off to the lobby and grabbed the bottle. When Billie Joe was coming back down the aisle he was heading my way and I was wondering how he was going to get back onstage. It's a little high. We sorta looked at each for a second and I could tell he was about to use my chair to heave himself up. But then I mentally flashed back to the Foxboro Hot Tubs show from Don Hill's, when he crowdsurfed and then got back onstage, and I was helping him get his knee over the stage, but he stumbled a bit and his kneecap hit the corner of the monitor, and I could tell it hurt. He actually laid on the floor for a good few minutes after that, singing. So, I thought to myself, I can make up for that, lol! So, he put the bottle on the stage, stepped on my chair armrest, heaved himself up, and I gave him a helping hand by grabbing his leg and pushing him upward. And then I couldn't stop laughing, so I missed him actually cracking the bottle open and taking a swig. And no, I did not grab his ass! :whistle

AWESOMESAUCE! so happy for you

I asked the first question during the audience Q&A part of the event tonight at the NYT talk-back, and I'm sorry if anyone thought it was a lame question, but I had to ask what made him [bJA] go and jump off the stage after 'St. Jimmy' last night. He said he just wanted to keep the show fresh, and keep the audience and cast on their feet. I think before the show he said that the cast had been told just to 'hold' after the song was over - but I'm not clear on whether the cast knew what he was going to do or if they were just told 'something's going to happen, just hold.'

I was really afraid I was going to slur my words while at the microphone. And I heard some snotty girls behind me ask, 'what the hell is she doing? why is she sitting there?' when i sat on the steps in front of the mic before they officially opened up the Q&A session (I had been to another event there and knew it was basically a free-for-all with the Q&A from the audience).

Well, ladies, eat me.

Sorry, was that really mean? I apologize if it was anyone from GDC. I was mildly intoxicated yesterday/night (and today I'm mildly hungover, ugh).

WOW! That is great :woot: I love when they do something that wasn't planned in advance!

Like when Billie said "Ik been haben eine grose schniedelwudz" thursday instead of "We don't need no stinking badges", it was so funny XD Especially when I realized what it meant

LOL

John Gallagher Jr. was on an episode of The West Wing - I love Toby's meltdown at the end - my husband got me hooked on this show. I have 6 seasons. He's in it more though - this is only a bit of it. He's in it quite a bit for one - well it's one two-hour episode

What's the trick to posting it directly on the board?

I loved your question. Was so glad it got asked since it had just happened and was so different. Didn't know this was you though!! Will have to rewatch at some point (when video is found) and put a face to your posts!

Thanks for asking that question!

I actually meant to put this in here, someone mentioned something about the Spiderman outfit that BJ talked about at the Times, which reminded me of this. I saw the Friday, Saturday, and Sunday night shows this weekend (I had good fortune), and I can't remember which show it was, but there is a scene after St. Jimmy where the cast is somewhat frozen and then he does a sharp hand signal and they come out of their trance. The hand thing is usually a sweep of the hands, very sharp. On Saturday, I think, it was one of those Spidey spiderwebs coming-out-of-the-wrist moves, and he made that "whisp" sound with it. I can't explain it well, but it was funny. Maybe someone else can explain it better.

its pretty damn good .. just billie talking about pressures of being in a Broadway musical and helps stave off anxiety by putting on a red sequined dress.

That cake look niiiice. (So does Billie)

He's still wearing that wristband.. which I still like to think of as a sign Billie likes Dutch people, and he hopes the AI musical will go on tour.. *hopes*

There are more pictures in this gallery here. :)
