plaid ducky
Do you think it will actually be extended? At this moment, it could be. I haven't heard of any other incoming show that's looking at the St. James. I'm sure that Jujamcyn wants their flagship theatre to have something in it rather than it be empty. However, I'm sure that in the coming months that the future of "American Idiot" will be clearer. Random things... Gotta love that Aspen just gave away two free tickets to tomorrow's matinee on Twitter. Mikey Winslow is officially starting in Idiot this week. He's taking over Joshua Kobak's swing spot.Gerard will be out of the show on vacation during Billie's first week off (January 11th to 16th). I don't understand, do they keep the show going until the tickets are all sold out or they set a specific date?
clairex
I don't know much about it, I am not big on musicals but my sister is (mainly westend though) and she said they can shut down shows early.
aussiechocolate
Oh, I hope not :/ Because I do plan of catching the show sometime on April. I don't have tickets yet, but I a, going to get it.
plaid ducky
Is there an extension date or what? I don't understand, do they keep the show going until the tickets are all sold out or they set a specific date? Right now, advanced ticket sales are until May 1st, that's currently the last date you can purchase ticket until. The show is open-ended; there isn't a closing date. The Powers That Be (hereforth called TPTB) can open another block of tickets for after May 1st, they can close the show on May 1st or they can close the show before May 1st. There is nothing in stone right now. Originally, ticket sales ended September 5th. Then TPTB opened another block of tickets until January 30th. Then they opened another block until May 1st. TPTB get reports on the advanced sales. If it looks favorable, they can continue the run. The show is said to have a weekly running cost of about $425,000, which they've made pretty much every week since previews. With the million-plus gross that they're hoping to get with Billie in the show, it will last them during the down times when Billie isn't in the show and quite possibly after he leaves.

Yes, they're covering their weekly costs but have not yet recouped the initial investment.

plaid ducky
Here's the discount code for St. Billie performances from January 18th to January 30th. Clicking on the ad above should take you to the website to order tickets. Depending on the performance date and time, your options will vary. However, for the most part, side and rear orchestra seats will come up first in the "Best Available" selection. But if you look for mezz seating, you can get side mezz, either Row A or B, as well as center mezz, Row G... which are pretty good compared to the rear orchestra or the extreme sides. These are the only discount seats that I've found so far so take 'em before they're gone. Boo and fuck. They've now applied blackout dates to the discount so that it doesn't include any Billie shows. I hope that some of y'all were able to buy tickets before the blackout dates applied.
