Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love
he said something at the 92StY that was funny, but I'm going to get the funny way here that he said it. jordan roth asked him about raising kids, and he said that he treats his kids more as roommates than children, but that he and adie set "guidelines, not rules." and then he gave adrienne the best shoutout, that she was the most awesome mom ever and that his kids were lucky to have her. I'm paraphrasing, but it was heart melting. you guys know that there is a download of the 92sty talk in that chat thread? Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwww <3 I have so many tabs open with downloads and youtube things from the talkbacks I still have to listen, it's ridiculous but thanks for the tip, I'm not sure if that one's among the list. I think Billie Joe needs some rep points!! Haha
J'net
Sorry, thought I wrote that more like he was joking around, not that he was serious about the roommates vs. children thing. I forgot about the "taller than him" line. Well, I forgot about the "roommates" thing until you mentioned it ... then I remembered the "taller than" thing. If we all work together, we can probably remember the whole interview - then we won't even need the recordings! Though it is nice to hear the tone of voice . I forgot about the "taller than him" line. Oh, don't worry. I didn't really think it was all that serious I guess and then J'net just confirmed it. You can't be expected to remember every single word from memory (well, I may want you to, but obvioulsy that's an unrealistic expectation)!! Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love
Mm, I've just accepted that I'm not going to see it. If it indeed closes in January (or even before), which isn't unlikely, there's no possible way I'll be able see it, unless a miracle of some sort happens. And I don't want to get my hopes up and be disappointed in the end.

In my opinion, it's always better to be pessimistic and cynical about everything and then be pleasantly surprised when things turn out different, than to be optimistic and hopeful and be crushed when things don't go the way you wanted them to. No offense to lizziebix, though! I just have a 'darker' way of thinking about things, I guess, haha.

mallorymaloney
You also live a lot closer than so many others. True. With that in mind, I really should be more hopeful, but TBH, distance doesn't really make a difference if it ends earlier than January ... Gosh I hope not for you and possibly me as I'm hoping to see it again in mid-December.
Li Sa
Gotcha. From the pictures it looked more like and East Jesus Nowhere moment. Guess it wasn't as exciting as I thought. Thanks for the explanation. me too

That's what I'm fearing, yeah. There's been loads of talk on Broadway forums I visit that the musical isn't doing as good as people think it is. Apparently they're not making much money off it at all ... Which is really saddening.

I guess I keep hoping with all the extra outside performances they've been doing, more people will hear about it and decide that they just HAVE to see it. Fingers crossed, I guess. Quick add about keeping hopes up: I had no plans on coming back to NYC this year but my hubby may have a conference. See you never really know what the future can bring your way. They're kinda in the middle of the pack in comparison to other shows. The problem is that St. James is a big theatre and the show makes almost as much as other shows but those shows have smaller theatres and stuff so it's less menacing on them. The comparisons in gross and attendance has been increasing for American Idiot just a bit each week so who knows? And the producers also take into account advanced ticket sales. Anyone correct me if I'm wrong.
GDM
I think you will be ok through November. It seems like they are doing everything they can to make it through the run to January. So, don't give up hope for November.

Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love
that is pretty damn awesome. wonder if he wrote it as well. like, the lyrics and title. I think he said I can't read musical notes, so then he probs can't write it either. 'Cause it does look like his handwriting, as far as I can judge that. I still don't have a spare 300 bucks lying around, though. Unfortunately...
