Tripe
Could this TV performance be them performing with Billie at the cancer telethon by any chance? I kind of hope not. That'd be proper desperate .., Interesting theory. I thought maybe it had something to do with taping an episode of Glee since there is so much crossover from the cast and Michael Mayer's previous show. And that whole Theo-Lea thing. Might explain why some are less than enthusiastic about it, haaaaaa.
jmax21
Went for my second show tonight IT WAS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! Compared to where we were before (nosebleeds, almost the LAST row in the entire place haha) it was insane. We were literally in the 2nd row of people, and there were 2 people in front of us. We got a good deal of the cast signatures, as well as a picture with Rebecca AMAZING NIGHT! Hey! That was me, the Canadian! lol! Told ya we'd hook up here

farley drexel hatcher
Yup. That's it. Haha well, if America's Got Talent is anything at all like Britain's Got Talent, then they're going to be hitting a huge audience, so that's definitely a plus ... but I can see why some of them might not be too thrilled to do it XD
Tripe
I can see why some of them have mixed feelings, eeek. Great exposure, though.

Moffie
bring in a celeb that would help No. It isn't working for In The Heights and that's practically selling out. Never mind, they already are. Is it true that this is shutting in the fall because the St James' theartre is running something else?? For right now, no. Maybe if things don't work. The rumor is Sister Act but it was debunked awhile ago.
lizziebix
No. It isn't working for In The Heights and that's practically selling out. Never mind, they already are. What? Seriously? They're thinking of putting a "star" in the production? Not sure I'd like that even if it means more sals. Seems like it should be an ensemble rather than a star's show. In The Heights tried this twice and the second is not the charm so far. That was just me responding to AI being on "America's Got Talent." songofthecenturyx
Hmmm... I wonder how they're supposed to perform that night on "America's Got Talent" at 9 PM when they have a show at St. James that night at 8 PM? Isn't AGT taped in Cali? Weird... plaid ducky
They're in LA on Monday & Tuesday. Their performance will be pre-taped for the Wednesday show.
mallorymaloney
Is it true that this is shutting in the fall because the St James' theartre is running something else?? Christ, I hope not, or I'll never get a chance to see it ... Someone please tell me there's no substance to this rumour! X_X; No worries with the questions. But yeah, it's more of a cinema-type experience than a concert, in terms of audience participation. Singing along is frown upon, as well as dancing. And everyone sits in the theatre. The only time people do stand is during curtain call (when the cast takes their bows). You can clap in response to a song but don't clap along with the song. It is more of a viewing event than a participation event. Does that help? Yes, that helps loads! Thank you so much, and again, I apologise if my stupidity was showing a bit there. plaid ducky
According the Broadway League, the cast will be performing "St. Jimmy" at the Broadway on Broadway event on September 12th. Time of the event starts at 11:30am in Times Square. Of course, the song might change. It's different than the usual performances.

For whatever qualms some of the cast may have about it, it'll be a new experience - maybe even more so than the Grammies.

Tripe
I was there for September 4th last year - opening preview night. Wow, what memories! I brought my husband with me although he had no idea what it was all about. Still, he enjoyed it. I think our tickets cost $42! We sat right orchestra, about three rows from the front. A different Tunny - Matt Caplan. Extraordinary Girl flying was a little rough but still highly entertaining. The opening number did not overwhelm me - has MUCH improved since then. Loved Novacaine and Letterbomb from the start. Pretty sure When It's Time was not part of the show back then. After the show, a photographer took a photo in the round of the cast and audience to memorialize that first night. Cool idea but the picture ended up being kinda meh and he wanted about $100 for a print if I recall. All three members of GD were in the audience and others as well. Lots of family members, too. American Idiot, how fabulously far you have come in just one year!
GDM
My friend who is a graduate of Columia university asked me today if I wanted to see American Idiot next week, the 15th or the 16. You have to be a Columbia grad or student and after the show, there is going to be a talk with Armstrong, Mayer and Kitt. We are going on 9/16. Wow, no rest for the wicked. Billie is really making the rounds in NYC in two weeks!
