Mar
Norway, how epic of a trip that is! Have fun! Does anyone know if there's an mp3 of Good Riddance out there? I can always make an LQ one from the YouTube video, but if there's an HQ one floating around, that would be great!

plaid ducky
Here's a video of some of Johnny's gig from the Ars Nova benefit. Medley of Bob Dylan's "Subterranean Homesick Blues," Elvis Costello's "Pump It Up," and Gallagher's own "If It Ain't Broke."

monkeyfish
This is an interesting read about Stark Sands' new project. Sounds really good, lots of high profile broadway names in there. http://www.broadway.com/buzz/153058/norbert-leo-butz-patti-lupone-frank-langella-more-tapped-for-hbos-broadway-homage-the-miraculous-year/
BasketCase*
Everything ive seen of it I didn't like. I thought the musical was a daft idea. Love Green Day the musical I thought was a bit lame.
plaid ducky
Just some updates... 1) Wallace officially started yesterday. I heard that he did very well. However, he lack the level of guitar skills that Josh had so Johnny took over the guitar solo in "Good Riddance." Sydney and Corbin also started yesterday as well. 2) Mary is still out with mono, probably for four more weeks. Libby will continue going on as Heather until next Saturday and then Leslie will be on. 3) Most likely due to filming, Stark will be out of Idiot in about two weeks. Van will be going on in his part. 4) Johnny's contract was extended until January, which I believe is also when Stark's is (but who knows if he'll leave earlier). 5) I posted a video clip from the Ars Nova benefit earlier but here's Johnny's entire set: 1) What Went Wrong 2) Steve Earle's The Devil’s Right Hand 2) Home For The Holidays 3) Indifference & After Dinner Mints 4) Beautiful Inside 5) Open At All 6) Suppose I Died 7) Three Out Of Five Ain’t Good 8 ) Two Fists 9) Fan Letter 10) Beggars Choosers 11) That Time You Fell 12) Buried Boy 13) Start to Live 14) Say Goodnight 15) Proud, Loud, and Scared 16) No Scorn 17) Still Sixteen 18) Mayday on Commerce Street 19) Medley- Bob Dylan’s Subterranean Homesick Blues, Elvis Costello’s Pump It Up, and Johnny Gallagher’s If It Ain’t Broke
DontDoSadness
Just some updates... 5) I posted a video clip from the Ars Nova benefit earlier but here's Johnny's entire set: He is so amazing Thanks for posting these. Have you seen it live? You can't judge it on some clips that are usually taken completely out of context.
AfterShock
Anybody know if they're going to expand the show off of Broadway? Bring it to Chicago maybe?
plaid ducky
Anybody know if they're going to expand the show off of Broadway? Bring it to Chicago maybe? There are no plans at the moment, but I'm sure that the producers have thought about it. Probably waiting on how the Broadway show holds up and how feasible it'll be to do a tour. IMO, I think it would do well as a limited tour, as going to only a few major cities and staying in each for a longer period of time instead of going week-by-week to various cities of different sizes. Anyways, the Broadway Impact Benefit at Joe's Pub is this Sunday at 9:30pm. Here's the line-up of cast who are scheduled to appear: Alysha Umphress, Corbin Reid, Joshua Kobak, Brian Charles Johnson, Omar Lopez-Cepero, Michael Esper, Rebecca Naomi Jones, Chase Peacock, Van Hughes, Gerard Canonico, Miguel Cervantes, Libby Winters, Leslie McDonel, Declan Bennett, Ben Thompson and Christina Sajous. Jealous to all of y'all who are going. Enjoy!

Sara.
The musical was just plain awesome. The story and all the power in the record were perfectly accomplished in the musical. It was so powerfull, strong and beautiful. I was sitting with tears in my eyes the whole time just because of the all the awesomeness in the show. Everyone in the cast are so talented and performed the songs in a perfect. To see a record as powerfull and strong as American Idiot being performed that well as a musical was insane. It just that it took my breath away! After the show I met a lot of the cast members, they were so unbeliveable sweet I'll post more about that later. Do the cast always play Good Riddance at the end? I'm so delighted that you enjoyed it so much! I always get tears in my eyes during the first song (American Idiot), even though it's not exactly a tear-jerker! But I think it's the pride and joy I feel for our boys and what they've accomplished. It's so huge, and it just overwhelms me! Since they've started playing Good Riddance at the end, I think they've always played it. I haven't heard of an occasion where they didn't. Someone else may know something different (they played near the end of the run in Berkeley - then they didn't play it at the beginning previews in New York. I can't remember when they started up again, but I think it's been a fixture since then).
ScreamsInSilence815
Since I'll be on Long Island in September and my best friend's going to be coming down to the city for a weekend, we're probably going to go see it then. I certainly hope so. I wanted to go for my birthday in like three weeks, but that's not going to happen...

I got goosebumps and a bit choked up reading about you having tears in your eyes the entire time. I wish everyone on this board could go see one performance all together. Could you imagine the energy in that room we would create? Thanks for posting, its great to see how more of us feel after the first time seeing the show. So glad you loved it. And I believe GR is a permanent fixture and I think it ties the experience up so perfectly. Abbey
