PPMB whiners talking about AI Like I said with the Chickenman incident, the PPMB just makes me laugh. I swear sometimes punks are the biggest snobs on the planet. And that's coming from a theater snob like me. It's so cool of them to complain and moan because it's "in" over there. Just wait till Larry comes back from England to put them in line! lol. Moffie
So, I did a short little interview with Michael Esper yesterday. Please don't post elsewhere. (Sorry, Esper, for the unfortunate screencap that YouTube chose.) Awah, Esper's such a cutie! /fangirl moment Thanks for the interview! That's so nice that he talked with you for a little bit. Fuzz
I've learned that I feel none better for arguing with people or having to justify my reasoning. Well, not at places I don't really care about. I can argue with people on GDA or GDC because I have an interest in what people here think about most things.

It's kind of impossible to argue over there w/0 someone calling you names before you even begin. Poor Jax posted something about Punks Play for Autism and the Razorbax and tried to post the video but couldn't figure out how to do it. The next poster basically called her a jackass for not knowing how to embed and said the band's name was stupid, too. Hello, and fuck you, too! Dutch
"...plastic bag on a monument" "I fell asleep, while watching spike tv..." What do those sentences mean ?
HoneyDo666
"...plastic bag on a monument" "I fell asleep, while watching spike tv..." What do those sentences mean ? Spike TV= http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spike_(TV_channel) ^It caters to young males, so basically Will is tired of doing routine things while waiting for Heather to return (thinking in terms of the musical) I always took the "plastic bag on a monument" line to be calling out all the outward displays of patriotism as fake. Kind of Green Day taking a "What is patriotism really?" stance. I think it's more of a personal love of your country than making statues and vigorously waving the flag to prove you love your country. Just my thoughts though...
Catsername
So, I did a short little interview with Michael Esper yesterday. Please don't post elsewhere. (Sorry, Esper, for the unfortunate screencap that YouTube chose.) Nice interview I think u had pretty good questions...better than some of the Time magazine ones for Billie anyway, but hey that's just me It was really nice of him to do that for you. If I bumped into him on the street I'd probably not even be able to move let alone ask him thoughtful questions lol
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love
I always took the "plastic bag on a monument" line to be calling out all the outward displays of patriotism as fake. Kind of Green Day taking a "What is patriotism really?" stance. I think it's more of a personal love of your country than making statues and vigorously waving the flag to prove you love your country. Just my thoughts though... I think it also strings together with 'a gag' right before it. The plastic bag gags the monument, the modern shitty world is gagging, masquerading 'the good days' (or gagging a memorial...it's a bad thing either way). Although that's just my thoughts, and this is the first time I really looked into that particular verse. And this is not in relation to the musical, purely to the song itself. And that same gag also goes with the line before that, "There's a flag wrapped around a score of men". The flag, which represents the country, wraps around the score of men, gagging them. The country is choking, gagging the people (maybe the people who want to stand up? Who knows). I hope that was understandable? It's late and I've only slept three hours last night so my head isn't exactly on its clearest, haha.
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love
I could run a marathon on 3 hours sleep. As long as the marathon was only a mile or so. But running a marathon doesn't involve analysing lyrics and explaining them in a language that's not your native
Dutch
Thank you for the explanation of Spike tv, could it be that it is not exactly meant as routine but it is his only pastime watching that channel ? About "the plastic bag on a monument" i had the idea it was an american figure of speech or something. I had the idea myself that, also because the movement that was made by the actor sitting behind Gerard Canonico on the bus at the performance in the David Letterman show (pulling a bag over G.'s head) that it meant literaly covering up your monuments. I had not really linked it to the sentence before that. So thank you for your thougths on that as well.

If I bumped into him on the street I'd probably not even be able to move let alone ask him thoughtful questions lol Well, to be honest, a good number of the cast are pretty chatty if you strike up a good conversation with them. Christina, probably the most out of the girls, but Mary's pretty sweet, too. Gerard, Miguel, Ben, and Esper of the guys... Johnny, too, but it's pretty difficult to talk to just him lately. They're a fun bunch so as long as they're not on the phone or looking to be in a rush to leave, they're all very nice to talk to. For example, Josh Kobak went on mid-show on Tuesday. He was telling us afterward that he literally ran on stage when he got there. Apparently, he thought that the show was at 8, which is usually is but it was at 7 on Tuesday, so he got the call at 7:05 that he has the night off, but then about 15 minutes later, he got another call, saying that he needed to get to the theater ASAP, because Omar was already on for Declan so they needed their other swing. So, Josh rode his bike in, hopped into wardrobe, and rushed on stage for "She's a Rebel" with what he said was 'major helmet hair.' Heh... Kind of Green Day taking a "What is patriotism really?" stance. I think it's more of a personal love of your country than making statues and vigorously waving the flag to prove you love your country. I have a more violent view of it. The imagery it conjures up is one of Dick Cheney literally picking up a plastic bag, putting it over the head of Lady Liberty (or other historic figure/"monument" representing what the U.S. stood for under the Founding Fathers ideals), and pulling real, real tight, thereby choking her to death. It goes beyond just exposing the hypocrisy of false patriotism; rather, it focuses the spotlight on the real-world consequences of that hypocrisy. This probably belonged in one of the Green Day Music threads but WTF...

Nmd
-sorry, random- Was listening to the radio (lotag was playing ) and the dj said, since AI is so successful, that basically Billie Joe has been asked/offered to write songs for another musical if he would be interested in doing so. He put a pole (Lol) on the website asking if that would be something you would want to listen to. I had to think about this for a sec.. and then decided that Billie is an amazing songwriter... and anything he would write would definitely have his stamp on it one way or another.
