Theo was out tonight and was seen front row for Glee Live. Such a good boyfriend.

@Nmd: I don't think so but if you ask people who have seen Berkeley and Broadway, they might be able to help you.

I'm glad they're doing it Berkeley style at the Tonys (FYI It's "Tonys" and not "Tony's") because it makes the plot line with the three friends more known so people who haven't seen the show won't be confused with the Broadway-style.

does anyone know if there's a thread or a review for all of the differences between the Berkely and Broadway versions?

There was a lot of discussion about that in this thread around the time of the first previews. And whenever someone goes to see the Broadway show for the first time (who also saw the Berkeley show), they usually post the differences they noticed, too.

It's interesting because, for example, when I saw the first Broadway preview, the "Rock and Roll" star portion of Homecoming had been totally reworked. Although I liked most of the changes I saw at that preview, I really preferred the Berkeley version of that particular number. When I went back during the week of the opening, they had changed it back to the Berkeley way!

And, on a completely side note - I saw a piece of the scenery that had been brought in for "Rock and Roll" used in another play while I was in New York :).

It's more like the berkeley version, but not 100% the same. Instead of miguel singing "and another ex wife", we now have esper singing "somebody get me a knife". Also Miguel comes out the bathroom door, instead of popping up from behind the couch, probably because unlike in Berkeley, there is no way the Balcony would not be able to see him changing behind the couch.

Yeah, very little is exactly the same as it was at any other time. That's the amazing thing about the show. It seems essentially the same overall every time I see it. But there are always so many little changes. It's endlessly fascinating!

I used to love it when he popped out from behind the couch, too. It was one of my favorite little bits.

Sounds about when I'm going. It's a real cluster fuck for me. It's the weekend of the 12 (June), but there is no Sunday or Monday show, Saturday is gonna be a bitch because of the wedding. I am staying till Tuesday and getting in Thursday morning.

I think I might catch the matinee on Thursday and maybe a re-run on Tuesday before i had back to Cali.

Again, a reminder, president of production at Universal Pictures will be in attendance on one of those dates (possibly Saturday afternoon).

Are you still going to tell the cast about the Universal Pictures people ? I wouldn't want to know, i think :)

On a side note, I just found out my wife, who is a talent agent at Gersh in the la talent department, as I was telling her about the show and Michael Esper, she knew who he was.

Esper is a Gersh client who is repped by a person (Jason Gutman, I think the VP of Gersh NY) she's known for years. She works in talent (Beverly Hills) Cool shit. Small world.

Either way, a lot of Gersh and Universal connections. Should be fun in a couple weekends for me. :) I hope the band is there for the Tonys.

Yayy.

That's awesome Lloyd. Now bunch up your skirt and skip out of here to go answer my god-dammed phone.

Van is on for Tunny tonight.

Hopefully, neither John or Esper will call out any time soon because Van's the only person available to cover for the three leads. Chase is out until after the Tonys. Ben's been injured since last week. Dec's hurt his ankle during St. Jimmy on Sunday and left midshow. So... yeah... And they have continuous shows every day until the Tonys. :ermm:

Well, seriously, it's a dangerous show.

Do you guys think they'll release the musical on DVD.. ever? I want to see it so bad, and unfortunately watching it on your pc screen is not the same as seeing it at the St. James theatre

So they are all coming back to the US for this not just Billie.

That's the way it seems, but we'll certainly find out come June 13th.

Don't get your hopes up - they are in Austria on 12th and Glasgow on 16th June. The flight to NYC from Europe would be 7 hours and there's 7 hours time difference (Europe is ahead). I wouldn't be surprised if they did a live feed from here, but flying both ways and keeping to their schedule is a bit of a longshot - that cloud of volcanic ash could reappear any time, remember, and they have contracts to fulfill.

Yes, we were talking about that the other day. They also don't have a show again until the 16th, so they are prepared for something or another to happen, whether it's live or a live feed, methinks.

I feel in a way it adds the the slap in the face of the lack of nominations. The only reason they're letting Green Day on that stage is because Green Day is A LOT more popular than the Tony Award, they just want a ratings boost from their performance. Same reason for including Glee cast, though admittedly they do have a theater background.

Yep. That's certainly the case, and yet... they won't nominate actors or Mayer. The Tonys can kinda suck it, in my opinion. And I've had this opinion since about 1985... lol.

Yes, once the musical and the movie has made it's run, I am sure there will be a DVD (blu-ray).

Hmm.. I hope so. :)

Just remember that first time you heard the album? :)

I am excited to see it in a couple weeks.

And I'm excited for you!

Hmm well okay. I'm guessing it will be a live feed indeed... I mean, it's possible they fly to the US for it, but then they'd be there all jet-lagged and it probably doesn't help that well with the continuation of the European tour if you make a one or two day trip to the US, haha.

Nice, though :)
