So, I've decided that American Idiot deserves its own fan site, and maybe that's a little late to be doing, but I want to give it a shot anyways. SO:

I have started IdiotBuzz.com

Still working on getting it all up and going, but I am looking for other people who may be interested in such a project.

http://www.idiotbuzz.com

I also "liked" this on fb.

Would it be possible to set your site up with an rss feed so I can add it my google reader?

Thanks.

So... my recap of yesterday:

First things first, it was about 95 degrees and muggy, so I opted not to bring my hat. I went into Manhattan, and of course, went straight to the St. James. They used to just have black and white doors with the American Idiot logo on it, and info and stuff about the show on each one. But now they have new doors. They're sexy too.

Anyway, so the interns Katie and Amanda came out to do the lottery, as per usual. Katie's shoes were badass... but that's off topic. Anyway, there were a bunch of girls sitting next to me that kept talking about how Green Day's music wasn't that great, but they thought they'd like it as a Broadway musical. And how in love with John Gallagher Jr. they were. Whatever. Obviously Broadway buffs. Katie looked over at me, and was like "Hey! Haven't seen you in a while! Where's the hat?" So I told her it was too damn hot for the hat, and she was like "No excuses! Next time I see you here, I expect there to be a hat." And laughed. I was like "We'll see. I'm apparently remembered even without it now, so... we'll see." And I told her about how I liked the new doors, and she was like "I'm not too fond of them. When I do the lottery, it kinda looks like I'm groping them. A bit awkward!"

I did NOT win the lottery. But I got partial view box seats for $37, which honestly... you may think it's not worth it- but it is. The show was brilliant, as usual.

So, I waited outside after the show for the cast like usual. The only one that didn't come out was John, which kinda made me sad... but oh well. I've met him and had extended conversations with him in the past. I got my playbill signed by everyone. Michael Esper noticed my It's Fuck Time bracelet and was like "Hey, you have an It's Fuck Time bracelet! I have one too! And hey, thanks for coming back... again." and gave me a hug. Then he was like "And where's the hat?" I told him it was too hot for the hat as well, and he was like "It is. It's more of a spring hat. Or a fall hat. Not a summer hat." Then gave me another hug and went on with everyone else.

I talked a bit to Gerard Canonico too. Yet another one to ask me where the hat is. I told him the same thing I told everyone else. He was like "How many times have you been here now?" so I told him. I was like "This is my fifth. And probably won't be my last." then he noticed my It's Fuck Time bracelet, and was like "I love those bracelets, but I've got something better!" and he showed me his tattoo that Billie gave him. It actually... looks pretty good. I like it. He was like "The L is fading though, I have to get it touched up." So I asked him if he was going to wait for Billie to do it, or if he'd get it done by a professional. He was like "Fuck professionals. I'm waiting for Billie." 'Cause... he's awesome like that.

I talked a bit to Theo Stockman, Rebecca Naomi Jones, and Christina Sajous. They're all sweet. I got to tell Rebecca that I've seen the show 5 times, and that Letterbomb is my favorite performance and blows me away every single time. So, we talked about that for a little bit.

The last person out was Tony Vincent. He usually sneaks out the other way, and leaves, but this time, he came out, and he was taking alot of time to talk to everyone. I also told him that I saw the show 5 times, and he joked and was all "I think you've seen it almost as many times as I have. You're the girl with the hat... right?" and I was like "Yeah." and he was like "Thanks for coming back again." touched my arm, then decided, 'Eh, I'll hug her.' So finally, I got to do more than just say hi to Tony. Fucking FINALLY.

I also talked to Miguel Cervantes a bit. He was another one to ask where my hat was, and how many times I saw the show now. I was like "Well, it would have been 6 but the Foxboro Hot Tubs show was the night I had a ticket." And he was like "Well, there are some things you just have to miss this for. Foxboro Hot Tubs was definitely one of them." Total sweetie. So, I got to talk to and meet literally everyone in the cast this time around... except John Gallagher Jr.

Can't wait for number 6!!!

Yes, the site will have a RSS feed. For now though, you should be able to set one up for the FB page

Thanks and did set fb but I'm usually blocked on fb at work and not at google reader. That's all. Just being selfish and wanting immediate info/access when it comes available! :D

i didnt even notice that was biilie in the picture at first, its so photoshoped.

man if i dont get a chance to take my mom out to new york to see this before it closes, i'll be pretty bummed. just have no idea how im going to make that happen.

I'm on my way to the Intrepid for lunch to see the ladies of American Idiot rock the boat. Of course, I have the slowest cab driver in the universe. Oh, and to see sailors in uniform, too. Fleet Week is my favorite NYC "holiday."

I'm probably gonna miss it. Stupid cabdriver took the West Side Highway in the middle of the day and now I'm walking from 34th. Stupid!

I just saw this on Twitter and I thought some of you might be interested in it. Apparently, Michael Buckley, the guy behind the What the Buck Show saw American Idiot recently and he just tweeted this "I loved American Idiot! Cast was great! They must be exhausted after show!!!! Really enjoyed the singing! I love 90 minute shows!"

So, I don't know what you guys think of that, but I think it's good because there's the possibility that he might mention it on his show and it could get exposed to people who may not have had any interest in seeing the show before hearing that Michael Buckley liked it.

Per Gerard via another board, the cast will be performing "American Idiot" at the Tonys but the Berkeley version, which has Johnny, Will, and Tunny start the song, not the Gerard, Andrew, Declan, and the rest of the male ensemble.

does anyone know if there's a thread or a review for all of the differences between the Berkely and Broadway versions?
