I had a dream yesterday I was on a bus going to see the musical again. I hope Hunter and I get to this summer.

And I don't think that it would close in july, what source is that coming from?

I'm flying up to NYC Tuesday to see the show on the 20th, and starting to get really excited. Anyone else going that night?

True! A girl that talked to him today said that Billie told her they'll stay there till they start touring so they can watch the musical many times cuz they only come back in August and the musical will be over in July.

She got pictures

The thing is to close in July is kind-of silly in terms of sales. It's still the summer; people are still on vacation. If Broadway shows close, it's usually after Labor Day which is what is currently the last day of advance sales for AI. IMO.

Is there a possibility of this show actually closing in September ? I have no idea if it's doing well enough to survive ? :(

We will all find out one way or the other when we find out.

You guys also know how Billie Joe sometimes loses track of time and dates. He's a busy dude. And how he says stuff that he probably shouldn't. lol.

But, hey, who knows what is going to happen.

Let's not get ourselves worked up over things we don't know about and not in our power.

FYI, it's not "scheduled to end Sept. 4th." It's technically "open-ended." Advanced sales are up until Sept. 4th, which they can extend.

ToniAnn, sometimes Plaid Ducky can be a bit direct. I don't think she means anything by it. It's all theater jargon anyway. The show could close tomorrow or run til the next decade. Who knows.

I saw the musical Saturday night and I figured I would come here to put in my two cents since everyone around me is tired of hearing me talk about it :P

I am a huge Green Day fan, obviously, and also a fan of musicals so I was excited to see this, to say the least. However, even being such a fan of both, it was way better than I expected. It's really hard to describe what it's like to see it. I've heard people tell the haters that you can't judge it based on the cast album or television performances and I have to agree completely. I fell in love pretty much immediately and I want to see it as many times as possible. It was amazing to me to see how far that album has come. It is music that is near and dear to my heart and has been the soundtrack of years of my life. To see it transform into something equally as big and powerful as the album but so different brought tears to my eyes. I noticed new things in music that I have listened to countless times. There were nuances in Billie's lyrics that I have somehow missed until now. I felt like it added so many dimensions to something that was already multi-dimensional. Lyrics that I thought I knew the meaning to suddenly have so much more meaning than before. Not to mention that the cast is kick-ass. I know that it's different and I get that many people hate it or think that they do. But to anyone who considers themselves a Green Day fan, I feel that you owe it to yourselves and them to give it a shot. If you hate it, then cool, it's not for you. But if you don't at least give it a chance, you may be missing out on something that you wrote off too soon.

It really was an amazing time that I wouldn't trade for the world. Rather than the musical being a totally different take on Green Day, it felt like an expansion to Green Day and their music. It was just an incredible experience that I think every fan should at least try.

I sure as hell don't hope they close that soon! I'm still secretly hoping for somehow finding money and going to NY on my own or something, going as cheap as possible on anything but the musical tickets. Which is a totally unrealistic plan, but still..... and if it closes that soon there's hardly no (or 'hardly any'? I never know what it is) chance it goes to London or something.

I absolutely felt that it was even better than I expected! And I totally agree about the nuances in the music, the musical takes it to a completely new level of awesome!

So my friend told me she was taking me to this for my birthday, but last minute she changed our NY trip to Cali.

I'm trying really hard not to be so bummed out, but I seriously don't think I'll ever be able to see this now
