I'd post a link but I don't know how... =/

Thank you very much!!!

and thank you for the link Tanya! :D

This was a terrific interview. I love getting a view of how their creative process worked and this is the main reason why i want to see Heart Like A Hand Grenade so badly! The creative processjust completely fascinates me! :woot:

I completely missed that, do you mind elaborating?

She dissed Green Day fans, that's all, in front of other Green Day, at the opening. It was kinda uncalled for.

Thank you very much!!!

and thank you for the link Tanya! :D

You're welcomed!

So, is anyone going to the benefit tonight?

MMCF Africa benefit with AI Cast

Sorry, I wasn't able to reply earlier, Tanya. I went. :) It was great. There were lots of people taking video, including the interns, so those will probably be up on YouTube.

Miguel was the MC and was awesome. First, he, Gerard, Esper, Chase, and Brian did a song. Followed by a set from Joshua Kobak with Gerard and Esper bakcing him. Fran Sancisco aka Chase and Brian were next. Dec followed with Jared, Gerard and Chase backing him. The last song was "Out of Africa" with Miguel, Libby, Esper, Chase, Brian, Kobak, Alysha, Carmel, Dec, and Gerard.

The founder of the organization was so sweet and it's such an amazing cause, raising funds for education for children in Uganda. So, y'all should look into it. :)

ETA: Chase is said to be back in 2 to 3 weeks.

Meh, not sure if I'm gonna be able to convert it. The online converters take aaaaages and then gives an error, or just give an error straight away (well, I tried two....but still). And I already have enough programs on my computer, so I'm kinda hesitant to download a video converter while I already have one. Sorry :(

you can download realplayer though, if you want to see the video. I really like it, actually.

Got it converted to MP4 format. My conversion tools at home aren't stellar so this is the best I've been able to do. If anyone can play raw .rm files and wants a copy of that instead, give a shout and I'll upload it too -- the raw file is the actual stream rip, it's about the same size as the .mp4 version and the quality is a bit better.

No worries. Sorry I missed it. I was sick on my couch. I saw Gallagher's tweet that he didn't make it for the benefit. Poor guy, his voice much be ripped to shreds by the end of the performance week.

they did keep it, but unlike in Berkeley, no one laughs cause it's just not funny to them out here. Definitely a local joke.

I understood it. The first time I saw it, I was like "Epic!"

If anyone is interested, just ran across this:

Miguel Cervantes, Brian Charles Johnson, Chase Peacock (guitar), Michael Esper (bass) and Gerard Canonico(drums) perform a cover of Green Day's "Longview" at the Rock Out For Africa" benefit on 5/10/10.

I've missed so much on this thread!!

I don't really like the way this thread has almost 200 pages and all the fuckin' news about the musical are discussed here, as well as people's reviews, people's meet ups, EVERYTHING...

I hardly come here since I never know if this is just the usual conversation or interesting news! And so I think I missed a lot of stuff, like interviews..

I see that there's a new one. But only knew it because of "Green Day LIVE on tour" facebook

I understand why mods what this all together.. But I don't know, maybe we should have the Musical stuff all in one division on the Green Day chat.. So there people would post the news, and discuss everything separately!!

I absolutely love these guys. I've never heard Kobak's or Dec's music before so that was a treat. Brian and Chase are fantastic as Fran Sancisco; I always crack up remembering that Chase was in the musical version of "High School Musical." :shifty: Miguel was a hoot as MC and he even read Johnny's text message to him about not being able to make it.

I totally agree with you. The interviews, photos and real news items get lost in the general chit chat and are difficult to find if you don't keep checking the thread every day. For example the TheatreTalk interview with Billie could easily be missed when it almost deserves a thread of its own because its so good. It happens with other events like the Foxboro Hot Tubs shows where the videos and photos get lost in the conversations between those who were there. Not everyone has time to search through pages and pages. Perhaps splitting them as you suggest could be something the mods might consider. :)

I don't know if this has been posted....

http://perezhilton.com/2010-05-11-is-american-idiot-doomed-on-broadway

What do you make of it?

To be honest, I think that Perez just got really bored and pulled the first thing that he could randomly make a "story" out of.

That being said, the musical isn't doomed. They aren't going to close before the Tonys and I don't see them closing until after the summer season, if they decide to close at all. It's still finding its footing and they said that they had an okay advance. Plus summer is coming and the tourist/kiddies will be out so hopefully the sales with increase. The capacity that Perez points out is kind-of misleading. The St. James is a huge theater and any show would have a difficult time to fill it, so the producers/investors knew that that would be an issue before the show even opened.

Thank you for clearing this up.

I honestly doubt it's "doomed". Also reading some of the comments on the site gave some accurate reasons as to why it isn't filling up.

I think this article, if you can even call it that, is a result of a dull day in Perez's little world.
