Hmmmm It would probably have to be someone in the balcony, I think most the people here are down closer to the stage, and especially where most of us are going opening night, that might be a challenge. Recording plays is generally a lot less common than recording an arena or club concert. I know that personally I couldn't do it because seeing a play is a very involved experience for me, and I would not want to be fiddling with a camera for an hour, trying to get a good shot and hide it at the same time, and definitely would not want to risk getting kicked out.

But seeing as this is related to Green Day, I'm sure there is going to be someone who attempts it, or at least tries to get some photos.

Recording a live play is also illegal so anybody doing this will be risking a lot. Hopefully an official DVD might come out. I am hoping that if reviews are good which I hope they are they might take it nation wide then across the pond.

Well, it now seems confirmed that Brian Charles Johnson is part of the cast:

There is not a lot of info about this guy, other than that he was in the original cast of Spring Awakening with John Gallagher and Gerard Canonico. Interestingly, on his facebook, it looks like he went to the Green Day show at the Webster.

The Spring Awakening website has this brief bio:

Broadway debut. Brian has studied at NYU Tisch and the Atlantic Theater Company. He grew up in Buffalo, NY and is excited to make the move downstate and onto Broadway.

I'm so excited about this production, but I'm equally disappointed that I won't be able to see it. The "confirmed" cast is pretty awesome. I've seen nearly all of them in one show or another and I know they won't disappoint. Really, really hoping for an NYC run.

You're gonna love it! This tour is just fantastically wonderful! Too bad you can't get to Berkeley for the play, but it's looking to me like it might have a broader reach than Berkeley before it's all over . Yep, I think it's looking VERY promising!

Well, if you've read this whole thread, you know everything I know about it, but to me it seems very promising that a) they have Michael Mayer; b) they have such a high-quality cast; c) Michael Mayer and many of the cast members are Green Day fans/influenced, so they have a deep appreciation for the work; and d) we already know the music is exceptionally fine and appeals to all kinds of people.

It looks to me as if no expense is being spared to get the best of everyone/everything for this one. Of course, that doesn't guarantee that the final outcome will be great. A stage show is one of the riskiest forms of entertainment in my opinion, but with every new thing I hear about this show, my confidence is growing that it's really going to be wonderful!

BTW, have you found the threads for the individual shows under On the Road? You can talk to other folks who are going to the same show you're going to in that subforum, and maybe meet some of them at the show - always a great experience! Then after the show, you can tell us all about your personal adventure in that thread! It's always great to hear from people who have just seen Green Day for the first time .

See, that's what I've been saying. For whatever reason, most of the theatre people I know don't have much faith in all of those factors coming together well. They love the actors involved, so maybe they just don't like Green Day? Or maybe they're basing it on the direction of Michael Mayer's last play (which even I have to admit, as much as I adore the man, left something to be desired). Regardless, I'm still crazy excited and hoping for the best!

I have heard the end is the most disappointing part of any GD concert. Makes total sense. I've been dying to go to one for years, but this is the first time it's ever been possible. I'm literally counting down the days!

i thought it was supposed to go till october, but they only show those 5 dates in september. i was going to get tickets but theyre sold out pretty much.

so like when do u get tix to the october shows?

or did i just totally fucking miss something? lol

ok nevermind i think i just figured it out. they just havnt posted those dates yet, right?

Ok, you may find this cheesy, but about Tony Vincent.....

Tony has impacted on the life of every individual that ever became his fan --truly. Each of us will have a unique and personal story to tell.

My story began in 2002 when I went to see WWRY in London, and my life hasn't been the same since he stepped onto the stage that nite.

There's no getting away from the fact that he is ridiculously talented. That side of him (the artist) is laid out before you all already. But, what's even more amazing than the voice, is the man behind the artist, --tony vincent (the person) who you will not be familiar with.....yet.

What is special about Tony is that he reaches out to people in need - touching lives and healing hearts, not only through his music, but through his very being - through his very soul. He is a man of integrity - a sweet natured, kind, warm, gentle, articulate, faithful, funny, inspirational, motivational rock 'n' roll wine lover, who gives of himself freely and humbly. I know I'm totally biased here, but seriously - you all will come to know what I'm talking about for yourselves when you meet him - you only have to be in his environment a short time and you're sold on him. And, if he doesn't capture you with his voice, or personality, then he'll capture you with his good looks! ...eyes and teeth everyone....eyes (esp with 'guy liner') and teeth!!!...(ohh and the hair .

Everyone needs a 'Tony Vincent' in their world, I think. Each day I feel continually blessed to have him, his music, and his fans, in my own life, - he is THE best, and for that reason I am committed to spreading the word on him - on his music, and on his message 'til we both frickin' well, die!

Yea i have called about 2 times lol

You can call and buy them august 12 or if you join there email list you can by them online late july early august.
