Last night was fantastic! The theatre was an absolute effing madhouse! The afterparty was even crazier. I FINALLY got a picture with Billie Joe (http://tinyurl.com/y3fnp5n). I swear I didn't bum-rush him with a camera, so I'm not really sure what that face he was making was for, but oh well! The show was full of energy and everyone sounded great. Heather sounded a BIT rough but I think it was just the microphone sounding weird in the balcony. I feel like Tony may have hesitated on one of the final notes of 'Know Your Enemy' but he still sounded fantastic regardless. The balcony was a mad house - there were investors strewn through-out but mostly it was fans.

Almost all of the food was 'mini' - aside from hot dog stands, and the half-cut off bags of fritos that they put chili in. They had slushi machines that were mixing green apple martini slushis and cosmo slushis - and they were serving them in cups that had the 7-11 logo, but instead of a 7, it had '4' and instead of 11, it said 'twenty.' Pretty cool. There was a rumor that the guys were going to perform that night, but that never happened unfortunately! I was introduced to TR Knight (formerly of Grey's Anatomy?) and spent a bit of time talking to Ben Thompson and his fiance because my girlfriend who I was with knew them. I got home around 1:45am, I think. I spoke to several people, but mostly theatre industry people. We checked out the NYT review on my friends phone around midnight and was delighted to see that it was a RAVE.

My friend, who's a photographer, was there through-out the entire evening photographing for Motorola, his pictures are great and they're here:

It was an awesome night :) I'm still processing it!

those are so AWESOME! thanks! may i share your friend's photo link on a Green Day fb fan page? ( it's called "Green Day LIVE on Tour")

REALLY AMAZING! thanks all you luckies who went to the opening for sharing those memories!

Re: the last post before this: Of course! I'm sure he'd love the exposure. And now that I'm finally home from work, here are the rest of my pictures in a Facebook album. I don't think there are any remarkable ones, but enjoy!

BTW, Have there been any more vlogs put up from Katie or anyone else that won the contests??

Does anyone know of any private-room hotels in Manhattan for under $200 a night?

Becky is staying in one with a shared bathroom on 38th street called the Americana Inn.

Check hotwire and expedia

Hotel Pennsylvania on 34th and 8th across from Penn Station has a room for tomorrow for $139. Not the best hotel, but cheap.

Definitely check out expedia.com. Seems to have some good deals for last minute.

There was one that my mom and I found in mid-manhattan called The Pod that was relatively cheap, but well rated. Go look it up on Hotels.com for more info. That's where we were going to stay had she been able to come.

The Carter Hotel, just around the corner from St. James, usually runs between $100 & $130 depending on the night. Far from luxurious, but great location.

Well I can tell you for SURE, that the reviews out already have Universal quite interested in the Playtone option. Movie WILL be made.

Interesting ... I guess they were waiting for the reactions to seal the deal, then.

I was saying the other day; they've got Grammys, they're on Broadway. All they need now is an Oscar XD.
