jetsrule128
How did they get snubbed when they aren't able to perform for CBS when they're already performing for NBC? I don't think you can do both. the cbs ones are pre taped (at least ones in past years have been)

GDM
the cbs ones are pre taped (at least ones in past years have been) I think the stations split the shows between them. No one's been snubbed, what might be on one show won't be on the other, from what I've always thought.

sundaymorning6am
Thank you, I was just curious as to when it came out. As per my other post, it's from Friday's AMNY
Isabel
I am even more excited about seeing the musical now, I printed out my tickets!
Zalex
Uh...I can't see that. Especially since they weren't taught those tracks and weren't contracted to be those roles. But it's nice to dream, I guess! It brings people together. I think I remember the guys talking about how cool that was. For some people, it opened their eyes to shows. It's not all, "HAPPY HAPPY, LET'S DANCE." There's not a stereotype to like Broadway musicals. I know people who got in on one show and then became interested. It's Green Day music, a plot...if they like it, who cares? You don't want to go? Cool, better chance at lotto then. It bothered me that you used the word 'freaks' because some of them are some of the most wonderful people I know. To me, calling people 'freaks' IS an insult. I used the word freaks because that's what everybody I know who loves broadway calls THEMSELVES. Broadway freaks.... I'm pretty sure most of the peopleon these stupid boards call themselves green day freaks proudly.....so idk how that's an insult.............. Can't blame the AI fans if the rest of what Broadway has to offer them isn't what they're interested in seeing. I agree broadway is tacky besides ai...but I still don't get whyt people see ai 4876456346464times
Robin105
People see American Idiot a bazillion times because it's a free country case closed. Why is it a big deal to you anyway? Jeez let it go!
Bastard of 1967
I agree broadway is tacky besides ai...but I still don't get whyt people see ai 4876456346464times Various reasons. Love the show, love the actors and want to see/support them and their show, love Green Day and by extension the show, or 'cuz they want to blow their hard-earned discretionary $$ on seeing the show several times instead of doing something else with it that's less important to them. I saw the show for free during opening week last April as a result of somehow winning an MTV contest. My wife and I are going back to see it in January (3pm matinee on the 9th) and then go to the evening panel interview with bj and Michael Mayer. She hasn't seen the show yet but thinks going up to NYC for the interview is a great excuse to take care of that little problem. As for me, even though I've seen it once already, one thing I came away from after seeing it the first time is that there are tons of subtleties, sub-plots, etc. woven into it. It is a very, very rich show as a result of how much further interpretation of Green Day's album that Billie, Michael, Tom (Kitt), the actors themselves, and the rest of the show's creative team has added to it. There is something going off in literally every corner of the stage throughout the show, including on the monitors, and I doubt there is any humanly-possible way for anyone to see it once and not miss something while they're there. It's like any good movie, good literature, or a good album -- people who really like it the first time and can see that richness want to see/read/listen to it over and over again in order to glean everything they can from it. In my opinion, AIOB is one of those shows that's worthy of this kind of focus.
ScreamsInSilence815
My two best friends are obsessed with Wicked, have seen it at least 10 times and are going again in February. They pay full price every single time, and tickets for that are by no means cheap. They go because they love it, they love seeing it, they love the music, the storyline, the characters, everything. It's the same thing with AI. Some people just love it. I've seen it three times (only one time paying full price) and am going again in January most likely. People go because they want to. How can people see GD live more than once? How can people go to museums more than once or to the movies to see the same film? It's all a matter of personal preference. Karen.
I definitely didn't take everything in the one time I saw it. Even watching the videos of St Billie on you tube (I couldn't help myself), I realized there was so much more happening on stage and that was only a 3 minute clip. I would love to see it again. I went with my friend and there was a guy sitting beside her who was travelling from Australia by himself. He clearly wanted to chat and make friends, but I was like - sorry - concentrating here - just taking it all in - and that was before the show even started! Who cares if people have seen it lots, if I lived in or near New York I would probably see it a lot too. I think youre just trying to force an argument where there is none, as several people have explained generally why people see it many times

Haha, I love the very first collection of clips from Pieces Of April --- I've gotta check that movie out sometime, it looks hilarious! And I just want to take a low key second here thank everyone who kinda stood up for me the other day after saint_n_sinner ripped into me like a fresh steak. I felt even shittier than I already had after reading his/her mindgame of a reply to me, but then I saw everyone else's responses basically telling him/her to fuck off and I instantly felt a lot better ... Because I really didn't think I had done anything wrong until after he started stirring his pot o' shit. So yeah, thank you, everyone. That was seriously cool of you. And it's quite the appropriate Thanksgiving movie, so if you have Netflix, download it (if it's on the streaming site)! It's about a conventional (kind of) family going to the city to their oldest daughter's apartment (and her boyfriend, whom they've never met and who is black) for Thanksgiving and all of the mishaps that take place during their drive to the city and the crap that their daughter has to go through cooking the dinner (the daughter is played by Katie Holmes - back when she still controlled her own soul, you know). John is the younger brother.
Lauren
WHY CANT THEY HAVE PERFORMANCES IN THE DAYTIME. My class wants to see it after I did a presentation about it. but there are no shows during school hours. someone give me a bootleg or tell them to freaking release it on DVD, i wouldn't mind paying for it, it's just that we can't go during the day I agree broadway is tacky besides ai...but I still don't get whyt people see ai 4876456346464times I felt this way when it first came out and people wanted come from all over the world to see it. i'm like jeez, it's just a freaking musical, green day isn't even in it. until i saw it. I like their versions BETTER than Green Day's. and while I'd prefer to see a Green Day show, this comes pretty close. If it were only 10 bucks, I'd be going every weekend. It's just a really good musical. it's beautiful. and funny. i love it. It's just like how people watch reruns of TV shows... like why buy them on DVD, right? You've already seen them on TV. People just like watching things that they like. My mom watched The Wizard of Oz like every week when she was a kid. Some people just like watching things until they can recite it perfectly, and even then they want to watch it some more.

Although since I'm stretched for time as of late, I'll add it to my list of movies I wanna see and save it for awhile longer. Also because I celebrated Thanksgiving back in October with the rest of Canada, haha!

I mean, it was a bit awkward with my parents with me, but it's nothing too graphic, in my opinion.

On the other hand it might just go over his head.
