Me, too, but in a Green Day way (i.e. not TRYING to be offensive ... just being honest and pissing some people off because they can't handle hearing someone express something they disagree with).

same here

I think its just fact that Green Day is going to be labeled "offensive" because some closed-mind person hears it and complains about it

Honestly, I give a fuck.

If they don't like the lyrics, fuck them! Don't listen to green day if you find them "obsene".

This is so retarded. I mean, really, do you think that because some pussy sensible bitches,

kids are not going to green day??Are they hearing them selves??

Do you think greend ay are a bunch of sell outs, that are praying to god to make people buy albums while having inyections of botox on their asses??

Fuck no!

lol. Comparing religion to fucking a hound is not trying to be offensive?

I suggest watching this interview of green day on sidewalks. Its the funniest interview i`ve ever seen, but tré confesses to this exact problem at the end of it.LOL

He's also eluded to having sex in a hearse. I wouldn't doubt it.

yup.. I don't mind if that happens too :whistling:

I do. I don't want it to be offensive. I want it to be GOOD. And if it so happens to be offensive? That's okay. Just as long as it's good.

I agree  I don't think you can get a whole lot more offensive than that. That's disgusting. But then, they could be comparing ANYTHING to screwing a pooch and it'd be disgusting.

I'm hoping, as I have begun calling it 'screwing the pooch', is about as bad as it gets on there. I bet it is. How can it be worse? I bet you anything that if there is a fuss kicked up about this album (and only 'if' I still don't think it'll be that bad) it'll be over that song. I bet the rest of the album isn't terribly offensive. At least no more so than most rap songs out there.

I've seen that vid sometime ago.. oh, that's why it sounded so familiar xD

I just don't get it.. it's like.. only Green Day are offensive, which I doubt.. It will be a great album.. maybe a little bit offensive, but that's not bad.

And what about all those rappers? Like they're not offensive.. >.>

good old green day :D its stupid that places wont sell the record though.

I'll believe that when I see it  I honestly don't think there will be a problem. There WON'T be a problem if people don't draw attention to it.

I would rather say that it's not shrinking from being offensive.

I don't think Billie thought, "What could I compare religion to that would really upset people and cause lots of controversy?"

I think he just started thinking about his feelings about organized religion and that comparison is what occurred to him.

To me that's the difference between good old honest offensiveness and contrived offensiveness. Love the former, hate the latter!

I wouldn't say I like any kind of offensive material. I mean, it's subjective. What I find offensive, someone else might not, and vice versa. But as far as aiming to shock people, I don't necessarily think that was forefront in his mind. But Tre did say in AP that they were gonna stir some shit up. So ya know. I think it might've been a small part of the plan, but not a priority. Maybe just a perk

it's for my mom's sake that it doesn't have too much cussing in it, i don't give a shit if they cuss.

so they won't sell this, but probably sell most of Eminem's releases, that, amongst other things, promote homophobia and gang violence.

they should really do some research

Well, I don't like anything that offends me! However, it's almost impossible to offend me - just about have to be seriously malicious for no reason to offend me, and I've never seen/heard Green Day do that.

I think Tre's comment might have been after the fact. When they listened to the song MoTD, I'm sure they realized that many people would find it offensive. I just don't think they did it on purpose to offend people. As you say, just a perk :)
