It's too soon to say but it seems as if they are writing music for big arena rock shows a la Queen. My wish was they were finally gonna go back to their roots but this is taking them, not further away from American Idiot necessarily, but nowhere close to Dookie. I'm dying to hear the album though. When you listen to the record it's gonna be like: okay, I already know what's coming or what he's singing (at least a small part of it) and then it's not a big surprise anymore. And also you start having an opinion or interpretation about the stuff you read about the album and especially about the lyrics but when you hear it eventually, it might turn out to be totally different because you hear the whole "package". But anyways, on the other hand it gets you more excited, I think. So let's just look forward to it and enjoy the last couple of months of waiting Yeah, it raises expectations.
