Starbug
It reminds me of the beginning of PW, and when I hear it I imagine bj doing/ripping off pete townsend windmills. That mental image just got me hot.rawr.

Guest LusciousZ
OKAYso I just listened to it because I hadn't had a chance to listen to do sopersonally, I thought it would be better, but its a preview so its ok.the strumming really got on my nerves, I hope the actual song doesn't have such a repetitive intro.overall, it sounds like something even I could have done in garage band.hopefully this is just like an intro to the album.and now I see why people talk about U2, I definitely see a U2 kind of thing, but it also reminded me of an abbey road-ish atmosphere.that's just my two pesosInteresting. What specifically from abbey road did it remind you of?i'm sorry. i'm a nerd and i like to compare these things..
Guest Billy
that intro was annoying as hell though, i hope they cut it down for the album.

Dylan.
To be honest the whole time I could hear the beginning of Deadbeat Holiday. I get what you guys are saying about U2 though. I actually love U2 but G.O.Y.B. was just horrible. Green Day is alot like U2 though. Except for the fact that Green Day pushes the limits. The difference is that we keep pushing what the limit is for them. U2 could never get away with American Idiot.

M1KEY
All this from a minute of a song that's only two chords over and over..I kinda think they may have simply looped the guitar to drag it out since it was playing on the site. It'd be kinda weird to have the intro the the song be THAT long.

punk_rockr
people are WAY to much stoked by this teaser. Some ppl here think they can speculate in how the album will sound like just by listening to this damn teaser. I've listened to green day a long long time now as many others and I still like them very much.but what I do not like is the majority of their present fanbase. Is there anyone who dares to critizise them, for real? you can't just look one way all the time. how can you get exited in a good way about this teaser? by that line he sings? by those two chords that rings for almost 2 minutes? please tell me, i want to know.as another user said, you're giving this too much credit. wait til the album comes out or til they actually gives us a full song or somewhat. But maybe that doesnt matter to the most of you cause maybe you're gonna love everything they do, cause that's a "true" fan-duty. I'm sorry if i'm generalizing some stuff but that's how ive been feeling a long long time now. that no one is critizising them. And I HATE when ppl get like a couple of five year olds in a candy shop over this teaser. it doesnt say ANYTHING about the up coming album. It's more like a fist in your mouth "yeah suck on it, you really think we where gonna let you get a hold of what's comin up?"

It's more like a fist in your mouth "yeah suck on it, you really think we where gonna let you get a hold of what's comin up?"Okay, you have a valid point. First of all, the majority of their present fan base is absolutely salivating to get a hold of something new from them. I think that's responsible for a large part of this excitement. I know I'm excited. I'm grown. I've been a big, big, big BIG fan for 15 years, and I have a right to get excited by 1:23 of new Green Day, as simple as it is.The 'teaser' is simple, quiet, but w/ a bit of energy bubbling under the surface. I can feel that. It's a feeling, not just being technical over what I hear. No, it's not a "true" fan duty to love everything they do. I don't love everything they do. I highly dislike the song Fashion Victim It's not about that, not for me. It just so happens I'm in line w/ a lot of what they say. Not everything. I wish this album wasn't so political, and religious. I hope it's not. But if it is, I'm listening to the music, and the lyrics, and I know I'll love it because I've loved every album they've put out so far for different reasons. Usually personal ones. So I don't think we're giving this 'too much credit' when indeed we're giving Green Day the credit they deserve. They treat their fans very well, and I'm glad to get this little bit from them. It won't be long now. Besides, it's on a web site. It's not the first single.

Every single person here is entitled to their own reaction.Whatever it may be.Besides how can you be critical of a chord on repeat? We havent seen anything yet. sounds like you are saying that every fan blindly follows GD and thinks they can do no wrong, and since you can be critical that makes you a better fan. That is almost as dumb as djrosstar saying he doesnt like Blink182 anymore because their fans think they are better than Green Day.
