Best Green Day Biography?

OK, now that I've got the best Green Day DVD ordered (BIAB), is there a Green Day biography worth reading?

After an extremely quick glance, a couple I've found are: the Omnibus Press Presents the Story of Green Day; Nobody Likes You by Spitz; Green Day: Rebels with a Cause by Gaar; Green Day: American Idiots by Myers.

Thanks for any input.

Quite frankly I think none of them is worth reading, but Nobody Likes You is thought to be the best.

Wikipeida doesn't have anything on their books as far as I know.

But it does have a Green Day bio. :)

Nobody Likes You is the awesomest!

Yeah, this one is a really interesting read! It is written very well and exciting, too. The author is well informed for instance about the Bay Area punk scene and gives a lot of background information.

Although I don`t know the other books, you mentioned.

There's nothing in the books you can't find online, and especially on GDA (shout out!)

I heard Nobody Likes You was the best. I read it and it sucked.

I suggest Nobody Likes You. The author is a great guy, honest Green Day fan, really talented writer, and he did his homework on the band incredibly well. He sat down with family members and friends of the band to learn a ton about their history.

Seriously, if you wanna get a full picture on Green Day his book is the best.

When I first got into Green Day, before I got online or had any other way to get info about them, I read 'Green Day: American Idiots And The New Punk Explosion', by Ben Myers.

I liked it, it's a good, comprehensive biography of the band, and it also has a few less well known stories and tidbits about them that I haven't seen on the internet. The author had actually interviewed Green Day himself several times over the years. It also has quite in-depth stuff about the music/punk scene in general and how Green Day relates to it. It comes with a lot of the author's own viewpoint and opinions, but for me that made it more interesting than just a run-of-the-mill biography.

So yeah, I'd recommend it.

^ Same here, thats the only Green Day biography i've read and i like you say, there's a lot of stuff in there that you find on the net. It starts off with quite a bit of background about Rodeo and where they grew up, before it really gets into the Green Day chronologue. I would recommend it.

i think i may have Omnibus Press Presents the Story of Green Day.

unfortunatly most of the books i've read has the timeline of their early day's slightly off by a few months (and yes it does matter so humfh!)

but idk it's nice to have a book or two to add to the collection i guess.

I've read:

the Omnibus Press Presents the Story of Green Day;

Nobody Likes You by Spitz;

Green Day: American Idiots <and the new punk explosion> by Myers.

Normally, I wouldn't read three books with a biography of the same band/person, but since I'm doing some of the bio updates on the GDA, I wanted to have as much info as possible.

I enjoyed all three books to a certain extent; however, I found several places where Myers' information was not quite accurate (moreso than in the other books). I enjoyed that, though - thinking I knew more than he did :) I thought Nobody Likes You was probably the best read/most accurate, but the Omnibus Press book has some awesome photographs throughout. Most of them I'd seen in other places, but not all.

I agree.

Myers' information is sometimes a bit incorrect.

I think Nobody Likes You is the best bio with some nice background information.
