Green Day at Reading 09

I think it's highly unlikely Green Day would play Download.

Plus to whoever asked, you can buy day tickets at around £30 each but apparently they sell fast. I think an ticket for the whole weekend (including camping costs) last year was around £160 which is a lot of money but not when you consider what you get for it.

download is fairly likely, as they've said before they like to play festivals they havent played before, and the organizer (paul something?) mentioned at the fan forum green day, slipknot and ac/dc were all high possibilities.

Interesting! It seems pretty likely. I don't really like going to festivals (even though I go to one every year) and I would much rather see a band at their own exclusive gig. At this rate, I'll take them in any shape or form though :D

Urgh I hate festivals to, I'm too old for them now, all that mud, cold and noise, give me a gig indoors and my own bed at the end of the night and i'm like a pig in shit :D Saying that I'd do anything and go anywhere to see this bloody band :dry:

I just got a tip off from a girl who is a band photographer is a member of an online Reading club;

she tells me Green Day are set to be headlining it this year.

i will update this in a second when she copy and pastes me it and sends me a screenshot.

i wouldn't believe me either, i know that.

this is what i'm hearing though, and it is from a trustworthy source.

OK, so:

she's not allowed to copy and paste all of it. the first two lines are:

READING/LEEDS FESTIVAL 2009 MEMBERS.

Subject: BREAKING NEWS!

Body: We have just had almost full confirmation that Green Day, will be headlining the event on the Sunday, 30th August 2009. With such guests as, Muse, Slipknot, Kings of Leon, and other big names, also rumoured to play, on the last day. We are very excited to be able to tell you this news.

Sweet! Can't wait! Maybe (as sad as this may sound) I could go to my first, ever, concert!

But anyway... I hope its all true.

Thank you. £30 is not so bad but in my case I must add much more money to come to UK and live there for a few days. So I'll definitely wait for them in Poland :D

Would be great if this really happened  Not, because I could go there to see them live, but just because it would mean that the album will be released before the festival starts and because it also means that they'll be touring. I hope they'll come to Germany :woot:

Meh. Too expensive for just Green Day. If there are some good acts worth seeing, it's a possibility i'll go.

muse, no?

I reckon if Green Day aren't touring England more in 09 then I'll see them in Reading; if they are playing lots of green day only shows in UK then I might still go to reading, but only if I get to go to see a GD show as well.

Apparently like £60+ :( kinda a lot, which is why I'm only going if Green Day don't play other UK shows in 09.
