I see. Good point.

Heres a question. What do YOU think the new album will sound like?

I hope its a mix of AI/Warning. That would be slick.

If they've got nothing to prove, maybe will see a sort of a mix album, kinda like with Nimrod. There was some different stuff one that album.

Yeah but that wasnt a great album. I didnt like it. It kinda seemed they were trying too hard to be punk.

I'd actually prefer melodotic AI tunes again. There mature and they shouldnt be worryng about arseholes like John Lydon saying their not punk. Maybe go for a smoothier sound.

I didn't see how they were trying to prove their "punkness" with Nimrod with songs like "Redundant", "Last Ride In", "King For A Day, or "Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life)". I definatly like the sound of AI, but hopefully it's just some tunes. No rock opera or any gimmick like that.

I don't mind the politics. Besides, the songs real political overtones were "American Idiot" and "Holiday".

Just two political songs and yet every announcer/interviwer says "the political rock album AI" and it only has TWO political songs.

^^ haha. No.

Its gonna come someday im afraid.

The wait for this album was ridiciulous. Never again.

Pretty awesome that it's going to be coming out really soon, I'm really glad, Green Day is my favorite band, and this will be the first time I'll ever be around for a new Green Day album. I found out about them because of Basket case, bought dookie, then a while later I got a few more of their albums, then I got American Idiot all back in 2006, so I haven't been waiting as long as a lot of other Green Day fans.

^ What would they still have to prove? I'm just curious.

no, Billie said there is nothing more to prove. what does he mean?

SEX parinaz, SEX SEX SEX!

Understood. :)

Billie looks strange although there is some photoshop effect on it. AP is a reliable magazine so it won't spoil its reliability by a crap photo. :/

and about Billies Quote which was my question I think he meant there are something that have been proved before, you know so there is no needfor more. whether it could be their punkish or some spiritual matters.

At least I believe there is a relation between his look on the cover and his quote!

I was just thinking there.....

Will the cover of the album be an artwork design or like a picture of the band?

I hope its a picture of them.

i doubt the new album will be political. i mean, they support obama, and are happy he is in office, so i don't think they need to go political again, not like before. actually i think they would be mad if they did. people will remember AI as a political album (even if it wasn't), and to do the same again on the next album would be dreadful.

in an ideal world, the album will have 18 songs. there will be a couple of songs that are like their early stuff, a couple like how nimrod sounded, a couple like how warning sounded and a couple like how american idiot sounded, and then 3 or 4 completely different and new things. that way they will please everyone.

as for the 'nothiong to prove' quote, i think it is like 'everyone knows what we are about, we don't need to try and please everyone'. looking at that photo, it looks like bill has sort of got a sneer playing about his lips (in a good way). but i wonder if this album will have more 'attitude' to it like they are gonna do what they want and not care what people think, coz as much as they gained fans from ai, there were a lot of fans who turned against them, and stopped liking them and people who just hate them coz of it; almost exactly like after dookie. so i wonder if this album will, in turn, be like insomniac, a bit more angry. perhaps not quite so hard as insomniac, but along those lines.

as for being lazy? green day never have and never will be lazy when it comes to producing a new album. music is their life.

[/long ranting post!]

I don't hope so, it should be artwork. It'll already be flooding with promo pictures of them, at the time the album will be released.

Maybe not. I feel like everyone's thinking about this in terms of how it was with AI, but everything about this new album so far has been low-key. It may be that it will come out without all the fanfare and media saturation - I know I'd like it that way. Foxboro went right under the radar for all but the fanbase, and although something bearing the name 'Green Day' is naturally gonna get a lot more attention, they can go with promos and such as much or as little as they want.

^true, but we weren't really saturated with AI either until after it was released.

They're lucky because they're in the position where they can do as much promotion as they want to do without it effecting the actual album sales or anything. I mean look at this interview, it's not even out yet and it's already being reported. Word spreads fast with this band.

I can definitely see them wanting to tone it down a little bit from AI, though that probably doesn't mean we'll be seeing any less of them.

Its very rare to talk about em here. They could release 12 albums in the morning and people here would still prefer to talk about a frogs rectum!

I think what they meant was that they have nothing to prove to anyone, not that their lazy, to whoever wrote that  It meant exactly what it said. They don't owe anyone anything, and they're here for the music, it's what they love. And that's it. They are NOT lazy. Lazy and Green Day don't belong in the same sentence
