check
yeah, no.i agree with the encourage people to vote thing, but them saying they strongly support Barack Obama is influencing other peoples' opinions. What's wrong with that? How's that any different than someone having an Obama or McCain lawn sign or bumper sticker?Yeah, it's stupid if people decide who to vote for based on who their favourite celebrity endorses, but why the hell should Green Day or anyone else keep their opinions to themselves? Newsflash: Green Day are artists and artists express themselves. They aren't journalists.

Hermione
Cool, they get straight to the point. And always nice to hear from the boys yeah, no.i agree with the encourage people to vote thing, but them saying they strongly support Barack Obama is influencing other peoples' opinions. So they can't give their own opinion just because they're famous? It's their right to express their opinion just like anyone else. And it's their right to influence other people's opinions just like anyone else if they want! cellophaneice
If someone goes out and votes for Obama just becuase Green Day made that statement, they have a whole bunch of other problems, as well. So, yeah I don't see whats wrong with it.

farley drexel hatcher
Seriouslythere are thousands, if not millions, of people like thatLuckily most of them aren't eligible to vote anywaysYeah, exactly, that's my point. Most of the people who would be influenced enough by this to act on it aren't eligble to anyway. And those who would, have problems. It's not as if it's a secret who they support anyway. Everyone already knows and it's pretty obvious.

And those who would, have problems.I would be surprised if anyone who was so weak minded to be influenced in such way, would actually change by the time they ARE eligible to voteI'm just saying things like this affect a future generation of voters. Just as Green Day did in 2004.

FruscianteForPrez08
Well, that's a shocker. Good for them for making an "official" announcement and everything, but we figured that out ages ago when that picture of Bill at the Obama fundraiser leaked, plus I posted a long time ago about this website Newsmeat that Bill/Adie had donated over 3000 dollars, and that was near the beginning of the primaries. Last time I checked they've donated 8,000-10,000.
