jose armstrong
i don't know if it's a reference or no, but that video is pretty good, same with the song, and it put me in the mood for nachos.EDIT: and doesn't billie say "brothers and sisters, get your hands UPON the air"and rivers said "brothers and sisters, get your hands IN the air"
Spark of Insanity
As he's clearly a Green Day fan, I suppose it could be a reference. Maybe he did it subconsciously after hearing Billie Joe say it during a performance that he was impressed by That is kind of what I thought. After watching BIAB I have noticed that I started saying things he does. Kind of like the "you know" and the "come on" he says whilst performing. But I dont really see a reference. Hermione
There was a Green Day tribute record? WHAT?!Yeah I've heard of that too. It was a load of bands covering Green Day songs, but apparantly the only even slightly well known band on it was Weezer, the rest were obscure bands. Weezer covered Worry Rock, but I've never been able to find it anywhere. One thing I know about it is they say "hugged without a kiss again" instead of "fucked", which I think is pathetic and wussy. And it doesn't even make sense within the song, it completely changes the meaning of the line.i don't know if it's a reference or no, but that video is pretty good, same with the song, and it put me in the mood for nachos.EDIT: and doesn't billie say "brothers and sisters, get your hands UPON the air"and rivers said "brothers and sisters, get your hands IN the air"I think Billie says "...get your hands UP IN the air", so it's not far off. But I've also seen videos of gigs where he does say "...get your hands IN the air". I guess it's not really an original phrase anyway, lots of people have said it before. So it's almost certainly just a coincidence. But I suppose there's still a tiny possiblity that he happened to have the phrase in his mind because of hearing Billie Joe say it at some point (as he's a Green Day fan). DeJennsitized
Dunno about the Green Day reference, but I do think that the way he sings "marrying a bitch and having 7 kids" just screams Tom Delonge. I laugh every time I hear it because it sounds so much like he's doing a pisstake.
