J'net
I suppose that could work. But if he's a musician, then I doubt he'd revert to poetry instead of lyrics. He doesn't exactly write poetically, you know? He's completely a lyricist.Oh, I agree with that. But maybe that's because he's writing songs. He just seems to love words and the way they go together. And he puts so much emotion into what he writes. I can imagine him writing poetry - not iambic pentanmeter or anything like that - his own punk-ish brand of poetry. However, I would much prefer that they all keep making music than any other option I can think of.

It's just that if you opened up a book of poetry by him (and he hadn't been a musician already) it really wouldn't seem that fantastic, you know? It's just that his words work really well for what he's doing. But anywho.Life after Green Day is fast approaching.
Aurora
I'll be damned if I don't get to see them perform atleast once.
jennyriot
well to tell you all what i think...its truely up to them in what they do. i mean i will be upset when they stop making music. but music will always be in their lives. its what they know. yeah it would be way weird to see them 60 years old and rockin out on stage...but id support them either way. because everyone is allowed to do what they want, not ever giving a shit about what others think.i support green day in all their decisions
Hermione
^I think it would be weird to not see them rocking out when they're 60 . I mean they love music and performing and they've done it their whole lives. I can't see why that would change. Plus they're best friends as well as bandmates. If I had to bet on any band that's around now still continuing when they're 60, it would be Green Day. Their style might change at that age - and actually I would hope it does to some extent. I would hate to see them get stuck in one rut and repeat the same thing over and over and over - roller coaster - .
Celes Chere
Billie will still make records, the bass and drum players will try but they will fail so they will produce records...After ten years, people will ask for a reunion and they will make a small tour callet "There you go!" and after the tour they will continue with theyr individual projects. They, however, will re-release all their albums in special remastered editions, maybe a box set, the "There you go!" tour DVD and brand new t-shirts of the reunion celebration. Before all that they will recieve an award for re inventing pop-punk, and the three will be together for the first time in the same building but will barely speak with each other. People wil ask them to perform a song but they'll refuse...... and Aerosmith will release their 31th Greatest Hits album.... something like that, I figure. billie-joe-geek72
It would be very upsetting. But I doubt they'll break up soon. They love what they do too much, I agree with Hermione, I can picture them being 60 and still putting out records, but that's just me.Although, if they do choose to break up and not continue to make records or do shows, i'd be completely fine with that, they'd still be my favourite band.
