924Nimrod
Forgive me if we've already discussed this.I have been thinking about this lately, about what Billie, Mike, and Tre will do if Green Day ever break up. Music will more than likely still be a part of their life. I'd like to think that Billie would maybe want to do Pinhead Gunpowder as a more full time deal. They'd all probably do some producing, because that seems like the thing to do.What do you all think?
Trotsky
This has been done. I suppose I'll proceed to search, close, and link in a minute. Honestly I hope they break up before death does it for them. I don't want to see a fucking 60 year old Billie Joe doing the moronic shit people like Jagger are doing today. And they're in good enough shape to put out maybe 2 more albums before that, but who the fuck actually wants to see 60 year olds playing rock anymore?I can't find it. This can stay open until someone does and if it's productive we can merge the discussion instead of closing it.
924Nimrod
Well if your 60 and playing rock, then fine. Just don't look like a jackass doing it.
jose armstrong
2 ALBUMS???!!!sounds scary, but possible.
Sanah
If they ever do break up (I hope I die before that happens, honestly.), I will be very sad.I will cry and throw hissyfits to no end.A true loss to the music world.HOWEVER.I would be more than satisfied with the material they have already put out.Well if your 60 and playing rock, then fine. Just don't look like a jackass doing it.Exactly.+1 cool point for you.I hope and pray very often that I will never have to worry about this happening. jose armstrong
the Rolling stones still playing, and how old are they???like people say: "is better to burst out than fade out"
M1KEY
Definitely has been done, but here we go...2 more albums??? I'd die myself if there were only 2 more albums!! They can at least double their albums before calling it quits in my opinion. They've been around 20 years, they can do 20 more. It's what they love, it's what they do.I'd like to see more FHT and at least 1 or 2 more side projects along the way, out of sheer curiosity if nothing else. Trotsky
Well if your 60 and playing rock, then fine. Just don't look like a jackass doing it.When I'm 40, I'm not going to hope the bands I listen to now are still around. In fact, I hope they're not still around. I always say, my favorite band 5 years from now doesn't even exist yet.

I would just hope it happens as a collective decision that they've done their part and are finished, and not through some petty fighting or something lame. CarnageXB
It might happen and when it does life will cease to exist. Plus there will be no more Andres.
Sanah
But come on, even that is a bit silly. I love my mom and dad but I certainly hope I outlive both of them.I really don't want to turn this into a discussion about me.However, I haven't found a REALLY good reason to keep on living. I just do. Green Day prevented my death. I will always be devoted to them. But honestly, we're all gonna die eventually. Time just separates the deaths.Hah, I'm pretty sure it's much different for you.
Trotsky
If Green Day broke up tomorrow this forum doesn't have to die. There are buzzing forums on bands that are literally dead.Hah, I'm pretty sure it's much different for you. There are bands I love that have probably saved my life too. But I don't want to see a 65 year old Justin Sane hanging an inverted flag over his shuffleboard court either. I always think each generation deserves a chance. It pisses me off when people act like modern rock is inferior to The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, The Ramones, whatever.

Sanah
I always think each generation deserves a chance. It pisses me off when people act like modern rock is inferior to The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, The Ramones, whatever.Of course. The more music, the better. And I hate it when people say genres are better than each other, let alone compared to single bands.Sure, they're classic. They worked their way up. They deserve a good amount of credit. But I also agree. Some bands are better than others, more than likely ones that neither of us have heard.Edit: I'm digressing. If Green Day happens to become a classic band with fame like those previously mentioned in the quote, I'll still be devoted to them.If they don't, I'll still be devoted to them. I don't care. It's not about chances, it's about the quality of music.
Michelle7107
I'm not really obsessed with them anymore, so I wouldn't commit suicide or anything...It'd be sad.
jose armstrong
let's grow some balls and face it, green day will have to end sometime, it will be hard, but it won't the first time good bands come to an end, prompt example: the Beatles, and this forum would indeed still be running, it has managed to be active during the last years, which has been slow in GD news, i think it can survive, and i think the green day members will still in the music business. Sanah
I think you need to take one more look at your signature. Oh shush.I said earlier that I'd be more than joyous with the vast amount of music that they've already given us.Timeless. Haven't gotten tired of it. Ever. Don't plan on it anytime soon either.Green Day will call their next album: Let it BeAnd then call the one after that: Psyche! We'll be here forever!God I fucking wish. The second part.
