At the least, something has to be done about how many pages of threads there are. I mean 304 pages! Shouldn't they be archived/deleted after a period of inactive time. I still don't see how splitting the thread would cause any problems.How could it. It would basically just simplify and minimize time spent to find a GD related topic. Plain and simple.What is the problem with being more organized.The reason we don't get rid of pages is so that people can search through past discussions. It's not often someone will bump a thread from 2005, we used to only show the last 20-30 pages, but leave the other ones searchable, which is something we can do again. I took that limit off because I felt it made it harder to look for something. If someone wanted to look for a specific thread from March or April but didn't remember the name, they could go through the pages. i guess the only major plus side would be people who don't exactly like the band who have to see threads about the band all the time.it would be a separate part of GDC, so it would make things alot easier for them and the newer members who come to talk about Green Day.Even though I know this place has been succesful because we have a good mix of people, some who don't even like Green Day anymore, at the end of the day this place is still a Green Day forum. Remember my original FHT thread? You had 70 some posts in there and only 2 actually had anything to do with anything.Furthermore, I dont think anyone that is in favor of splitting them has EVER said every thread on this forum should have to do with Green Day. It would be illogical to think this way. I think they shouldnt be "OMG Billie Joe is hawt" kind of threads I think it should be a discussion about thier music or something of another importance for those who want to talk about them and those who dont like Green Day to just stay out. Its as simple as that. Go into the threads that interest you and let other people talk about what they want about Green Day. But not the hes hot shit or too personal stuff about the band. Plus, General shouldn't get too boring because most people don't even read the GD threads much anyways, so it wouldn't affect the flow of General.if that makes sense...
