I think I read on the forum there that new subscriptions were not going through right now anyway, not sure if that has changed.I disagree. The forum there had alot and if not still has a few stupid/useless threads and the same ppl responding to them all. It got so bad that I and many others have said it's not worth looking at the threads anymore. Even the serious threads ended up spammed out and nothing was done about it. For one thing gdc has going for them is there threads stay on topic more and you actually can read information posted without having to get annoyed.You can't join the IC because they have suspended subscriptions for quite a long time. Which makes no sense because there are always ppl registering. But im sure they have some logical reason. But if they did open it up again I will have to agree, don't join until the new album comes out. Its been forever since they announced they were going to do it.We haven't had a Q&A since I've joined and the monthly contests have stopped. But when things are more active it really is worth it. Oh and it's really small, the videos are shrinked down, so that no one can rip it from the site. The pics are so-so (you can find much more on this site lol). There are about 5 or 6 live songs, but they're not really the best quality ones. The contests are ok, but since March, the montly contests haven't been updated (the March contest is still open.) I don't really have a forum account there, but I've seen the forum, and I think this one is better. But Maybe the Idiot Club sucks right now cause there's no news about the new album. I'm sure that once Green Day start touring and release a new CD, the site will be much better. Too bad my subscription ends at around that time I kinda got a free subscription for the Idiot Club through a contest, so I don't pay at all hehe . Spark of Insanity Posted July 10, 2008 Share Posted July 10, 2008 im a member on the IC as well and i think that personally its not so much worth your money because its not revamped the contest have stopped they stopped accepting new members and the threads do get spammed more. i am only on there really now and days so much is because of the people i talk to on there. and most of the time i am in groups and checking my messeges and responding to them because i have met some great people on the forum and that is the only reason that i would be renewing my membership there. there are some very few threads that would stay on topic but not for a while and i post in the topics that i have made and some other ones but i have stopped responding to most because i saw that they are mostly spam in there even in some of my threads i have found that out. i think that most people stay there and i know that they do is because of the people that they have become close friends with on the IC. otherwise like some other people have said its better to join when the new album is out and then the revamp or something happens. The same FBHT information was posted over here shortly after it was posted there, and most of the other recently occurring interesting news has been on myspace, greenday.net, etc as well.One thing about that $20 fee that is a good thing - it keeps out the riffraff who just want to say shitty provoking things about the band. Admit it, every single girl (regardless how much of a "true fan" they are now or whatever as they say) have been a teenie at some point or another. then they grow out of it. Encourage the teenies that there's more the the band than the pretty faces, instead of bashing them which doesn't enforce anything. Trust me, i didn't have anyone being nice to me when i said i liked green day. and i surely didn't have anybody handing me a cookie when i said i thought "Billy Joe is hott".
